Always wondered what did Butch ever say about the banners that flew for him to be let go?

Was he ****ed or just didn’t give a F?

I was standing 50' away when the Banner was Flown...It hurt him, he was doing the best he could at the time...for the fans to blame him for the previous regimes F-ups is ridiculous...

given the situation Miami was in, very few coaches would have even taken the Canes job and what Butch did to save the
Miami program (with sanctions that could have killed it) every Canes fan should line up and kiss his *** and say thanks Butch. it ****es me off to read dumbass Butch-haters make stupid comments about him and they don't even know what the fvck they are talking about.

When Butch wanted to come back to Miami, he was the right guy to restore the program.

I wholeheartedly agree, but from 2001-13...after that it was to late....

I think Butch had a great eye for talent, but he wasn't that great of a coach and that is showing now and while he was at UNC. He was 1-5 against both FSU and Va Tech while he was here and lost to ECU twice. If we had a coach here that was doing all that right now... He wouldn't stand a chance with this fan base.

That explains losing to FSU and Va Tech, although the first year he lost to both and wasn't dealing with scholly problems then. It doesn't explain losing to ECU twice... ECU. In 96 we beat Syracuse, WVU and Pitt but lose to ECU 31-6... That isn't scholarships. It wasn't scholarships in 99 either.

I know you hold Butch in the highest regards, I just disagree about his ability as a game day coach.

Hows our game day coaching been since Butch left??...Better yet, how's things been since all of Butch's kids and assistants completely left after 2004 season??....I would wait, but I already know the answer...

No, I'm saying that Davis has had exactly 1 good season as a head coach of a major football program. In that season he didn't win a championship because he lost a game he shouldn't have. It was a difficult game on the road but we should have still won the game against an inferior team.

What I'm saying is that he isn't this savior coach that people seem to think he is. He built a monster but his ingame coaching left a lot to be desired.

Since he left? Well they won a title the next year without him there... Answer me this how many national championships does he have as a coach?
