Cane Target Rivals Update: McFadden, Claude and Gray

He's obviously a kid, and its fine to be fans of other players and not the school, i loved Charles Woodson, im a fan of Johnny Football, Brett Hundley and Teddy B.. But i grew up a canes fan first. Im a fan of Mcfadden, But thats like me saying i grew up a canes fan but Tim Tebow is my fav player. My point is that the Noles are our rivals, whether you watch the sport or not, i wont understand someone saying they ARE fans of the noles but their fav player is a cane.

But besides the fan BS, the kid imo is a must have in the class with Cole and Johnson.

In addition to what everybody else has mentioned, its not far fetched for kids to be a fan of a school but like a player of a rival school.

Maybe he was a Skins fan and watched Taylor. How many backs do you hear now saying they grew up a fan of Reggie Bush but yet they were fans of other schools? It's really not that uncommon at all. Aaron Murray grew up a Gator, parents went to UF, he was a huge Tebow fan and yet still went to UGA. It happens.

A little OT, but wasnt Bryant McFadden one of the guys who came on his Miami visit recruiting for FSU? I know Willie Jones Jr was one of them who did that, but I seem to remember a DB from Miami doing the same years ago.

Athlete Commit Wants to Play QB At Miami
-Cane commit Trayone Gray was in recruiting section for Miami-GT game
-Said he paid closest attention to Stephen Morris and his reaction to throwing early interception. Also watched how Allen Hurns created seperation
-Arrived early and got to speak to Golden before the game
-On what position he sees himself as at Miami: "I see myself as 50/50 quarterback or receiver at the next level," Gray said. "I prefer to be quarterback, like offense more than defense."
-He says Miami has recruited him as an athlete
-Says his commitment is strong. Miami is his only visit
-Former Cane/Gator/CCHS coach Aubry Hill says: "What position he plays is however UM wants to use him," Hill said. "He's a big kid, runs very fast. One of his best qualities is he's very, very competitive. He's tough enough to even play defense. He can play safety, receiver - if he's coached up pretty good he could even play quarterback."

If you look at kendrels twitter def looks like it will be miami. And if he wanted to announce last Friday and was trying to go to the game on Saturday...

How about this make Trayone Gray a QB so now Miami doesnt have to waist a needed schollie on another QB unless Kaaya decommits.

Then use that ship, from the Edouard de-commitment, for a extra DB.

Isn't he related to Bryant McFadden? If so the FSU thing explains alot...

I believe they're cousins

ya B-Mac is his older cousin. B-Mac is my boy....we played together in high school. The kid is also related to Patrick Peterson(Cardinals) because that is B-Mac's nephew. So ya he has some goood dbs in his bloodlines.

I dont think at this point fsu is that high on him..which is good....B-Mac was recruited by UM....but was going to fsu from jump. Also enjoyed his time @ FSU..and is like Kendrell's idol.

He should be the top safety on our list...i know i have a bias...but the kid has been balling since his freshman year....and will straight HIT u....Plus size also. Legit 6'2-6'3 185 right now.

ya sort of kind of......

i mean we had tickets to the um game ever week....and Bryant usually went....i know i went on those free tickets to like 2-3 games that year.

Willie Jones was a fsu lock similar to Duke Johnson....and Bryant after his trip to fsu was sold.....they had him like a GOD up there.....he knew of the talent we were bringing in here....but fsu kind of went all in on him. Bryant was originally from South Carolina so i think Clemson was running 3rd for him.

He was the best db in broward for like 2-3 years...and likely the top cb in the state of fla sr year. Had he committed to um good god we would of been deep....i think they sold him on early pt...and essentially he shared time all his years their but was so talented still went 2nd round.

Curious what the staffs plan is at S. We definitely need 2 in the 2014 class.

Who is left out there that we are showing interest in for this cycle?

Mayes and Gray could both be looked at as S in the coaches eyes but we don't know because they can't comment on that stuff. Jenkins, from what I remember, wanted to play offense as well and he's developing nicely at S.

Otherwise I cant think of any S prospect that we are after hard.

Alot of people were fans of ST.

Its not the kids fault that FSU never developed a safety that he could look up to.

Maybe not, but he could realize that Miami has developed ST, Ed Reed, Bennie Blades, ..... and many more that would easily have been the best FSU ever.
