Curious to hear what realistic options people have for the additional coaching position. While I want to give Richt 1 more year to see what his offense can do under Perry or Williams (both of which can't be worse at the QB position than Rosier), this hire is instrumental in Miami's path back to National prominence; thus I'd prefer it to be an offensive-minded hire. What candidates could/should we start hearing about relatively soon?

Someone with an offensive mind, make him co-OC and demote Thomas brown to just RBs. Richt won't give up calling plays just yet but we need an innovator on the offensive side of the ball to spice this vanilla **** up

1. Former Oregon HC and OC Mark Helfrich, as OC/QB coach. Re-title Thomas Brown as RB coach/Running Game coordinator. Re-title Jon Richt as Quality Control Analyst - Intern. :)

2. A second OL coach. Some schools have two OL coaches, one coach for tackles, the other coach for guards and centers. Other schools have one OL coach for pass-blocking, and a second OL coach for run blocking.

3. A true LBs coach. Let Manny coordinate and delegate position coaching to someone else.

1. Mark Helfrich OC
2. Kevin Wilson OC
3. Jeff Banks STC (let Hartley coach TE and Recruit)
4. Tommy Thigpen LB (unless he’s staying at UT?)

Mark Helfrich Sounds great to me
Ken Dorsey OC?
Ed Reed Safties coach and move Banda to LB’s or Special Teams?

$600K gets Miami Tony Levine from Purdue and this solves our offensive and special teams problem overnight.
