Can we take a second and discuss Malachi Toney?

I know there are a dozen threads on this guy.

But I am starting another one.

He’s the best wr we have ever had. He’s 19.

He has the best hands I have ever seen from a college wr. He’s 19.

Michael Irvin calls him the best he’s ever seen at UM. He’s 19.

He is a Dade County legend. He’s 19.

He’s going to finish the year with 20 td’s. He’s 19.

He’s the best blocking wr in the country. He’s 19.

Absolutely wild

It appears that Reggie agrees too.

But how old is he?

I think he will be the best slot receiver ever. I say this because not only is he absurdly talented, but he is absurdly focused.

He is only going to get better.

I’ve got gator fans telling me he’s insane. Everyone is in awe of him. He produces in big games. He works hard and is a community guy.

Also that first over the shoulder catch for a td against unc he had was stupid good

He’s going to be a Mt Rushmore Cane and yes I mean one of the top 4 to ever play here.
He's there already. The only possible way he's not is because he doesn't have a ring yet. Even without it... he's there now imo and if not he will definitely be when 2027 comes to a close.

After the Stanford game, I told my buddy who is a Ravens fan and loves Ed Reed and Ray Lewis, that it is early and might sound blasphemous but Malachi Toney MIGHT be the best cane of all time (speaking from a collegiate player standpoint, not counting what they did in the pros).

I’m not an old head, but I’m not a young buck either. I got to watch Edge, Reed, Sean Taylor, etc. and Malachi is just different man.

Andre having 20 TDs on under 100 catches and had mvp 200 yard performance in rose bowl to lift trophy.. Put him in air raid with this volume.. He would be better than crabtree/blackmon numbers.. My goat until championship returns to Coral Gables
This is why I don't go by stats.

Yes, there is a minimum contribution level but if some WRs like AJ played in this age their numbers would be ridiculous.

Agreed… not to derail the focus off of Mali but Dre’s tenure here has to be looked at in context. The 3 yrs he was here was during the years of having a beyond elite ground game. Nobody really stopped us from running the ball… but when he got his touches it was a guaranteed chunk play every time

If the rest of the wr room had his dedication and work ethic our offense would be historic. Also, who is the Malachi Toney of the defense? We need someone on that side of the ball to be a leader and dictate things. If we had someone like him on the defensive side of the ball, I don't think we'd have as many of the issues that we do currently.
