Can we get an article about the Athletic Department

#8 ******* blows me away, if true. That alone is reason enough to clear the decks and start over.

This thing is a **** business, a massive one, and needs to be operated as such. Look no further than getting their **** straight in the athletic department first for the real reason that clem$on has joined the elite of college football.

Here's the guy to credit for that: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Radakovich (who, by the way, worked at UM from '83 to '85)

That football program alone generates $50M a year in (published) annual revenue. And it all stays there and goes back into the program.

Is there anyone who truly believes Blake James and Jen Strawley are capable or qualified to manage a $100M per year sports enterprise?

The reason that clem$on is where they are right now, is that they realized over a decade ago, "if you can't beat them, join 'em". They decided that they were tired of losing, and decided to follow the $EC model and turn their athletic program into a true business enterprise that was dedicated at every level to being the best that it could be, and not just some place for good ole boys and failed academics to ply a hobby of messing around with sports.

Until UM does the same, nothing will really change.

Can we get an article on the mismanagement of the Athletic Department. Things to consider

1. As the Athletic Director why was Blake James not part of the Search Committee in 2015?

2. Why did the Search Committee in 2015 consist of members that know nothing about football coaching hires? "Members of the advisory committee include Board of Trustees members Hilarie Bass, David Epstein and Steve Saiontz; Deputy Director of Athletics Jennifer Strawley and former UM standouts Jonathan Vilma and Heisman Trophy winner Vinny Testaverde."

3. Why do we keep hiring the same company to conduct a search? Does someone on the BOT have a connection to Korn Ferry? They’ve failed us every time and yet we keep hiring them to find us a coach.

4. How does a booster get his son to manage the baseball team?

5. How does Blake’s relationship with Manny impact his ability to do his job? Evidently they hang out outside of Hecht.

6. Which BOT members have the greatest influence on the AD hire? This is tied to question one. Why is Hillary Bass on the search committee when she probably couldn’t tell you what a double reverse in the red zone is.

7. Why did our Athletic Director never broach the indoor practice facility until coach Richt essentially forced the issue?

8. Why did no one in the Athletic Department not know who Coach L was when he called to inquire about the job only to be asked to send his wiki page?

9. Does Blake James have sole authority over the Athletic Department? If not, why is he even employed?

10. How is it acceptable to pay Temple $4 million for a coach that you had employed 24 hours prior. A $4 million buy out for a first year head coach?

11. Rumor has it that the Athletic Department has people logging into this site to change the narrative. Is this true? If it is true, how is this acceptable behavior from an Athletic Department that is tied to an institution of higher education?

12. Why did Blake James indicate there would be a national search for a new head coach to replace mark Richt, only to turn around and seemingly in less than 48 hours hire an unqualified Manny Diaz? Did a national search occur?

Inquiring minds want to know

Its bigger than the AD. Look at UM across the board. Tied with FSU in academics. Law school is now fourth tier. Astronomical tuition. Hemorrhaging money from terrible business decisions. The athletic department incompetence is just part 1 of the investigation.

OUTSTANDING.

These are questions we need answers to, and it's about time this is brought to the light. They have no recourse b/c they hide behind the scenes. No more.
Miami treats its non-alumni fans like trash. And many of the alumni-fans treat the non-alumni fans like trash. If the non-alumni boycott and moved over to FIU, a program willing to hire Butch, then maybe the Miami area would have a program to get behind. I know thats a HUGE reach... but if FIU actually manages to beat this Miami (a long shot of course) you could see a trickle.

This is a fun website, but you’re asking the wrong guys to jump out in front of this. This is a phenomenal list, OP.

A known national writer should do an expose’ in the death of Miami football and use your list as the initial points of research and exploration.

This program was Alabaga level dominant. Now we’re worse than The Citadel. And there’s no good reason for it aside from historical incompetence.

May be a long shot but definitely worth a try
Lebaturd is all about running a pajama party with a bunch of clowns laughing at each other. He’s not looking to be an investigative journalist. Those days are long in his rear view.

This story would have to be done by a good hungry journalist who loves UM and isn’t scared of losing access or bruising feelings. I remember that kid from a few years ago (Sunneel or something) who wrote so much good material on Folden. He’s probably doing something else now as a real job or doesn’t have enough of a following to make an impact. But he’s exactly the type of guy who should do this story.

If there’s a nationally important writer with that kid’s smarts and determination that’s who needs to explore this abomination of mismanagement.

Miami treats their alumni fans like trash too if it makes you feel better.

When did this happen? I only ask because I'd gladly start a thread a day talking **** about them. Since they asked coach L for his wikipedia page, I might even create pages for ALL OF THEM and post the links here EVERY DAY.

If you’re capable of changing your allegiance to FIU then that’s probably why alumni fans look down on people like that.

If you’re a UM fan you bleed this ****. Stomp your feet. Withhold your money. Fly banners. Write letters. But if you’re capable of switching to another program you’re garbage.

This is our only hope. Forget about all local writers. They care too much about their access to the program and probably not even smart enough or diligent enough.
