Can the Fuente lovers please concede now?

True, but they are getting mauled by an option team at home with a packed house on national tv.

You realize the option is hard to defend.

NO IT IS NOT!

Then why does gt beat good teams using it? Ill wait.

What good teams? Defeating/Defending the option is all about Assignments. Just do your job! The option is only successful against poor coaching or inferior opponents.

Shannon's UM team beat the GT option. Players stuck to their assignments and finished with decent tackling.

We need a team full of Trent Harrises, guys that do their jobs at an elite level.

Trent Harris is ordinary player......A team full of Trent Harris Type players equates to Duke/Wake Forrest.

I think you guys are ignoring the fact that navy dropped 40+ on them.

Just like some people choose to ignore Butch being swept in a home and home with ECU when he was at Miami. Never beating Tom O'Brien while at UNC. A career mark of 1-9 vs his yearly in-state rival combined. One double digit win season in his college coaching career. Being Frank Beamer's *****. This happening in his last college game:

All of which makes me laugh when people say "he had UNC poised for a title run". A John Shoop led offense wasn't winning any titles.

Triple Option Football 101

Stopping the Triple Option

In order to defend the triple option effectively, the defense will need to have three unblocked players in various areas on the play side. As the diagram below shows, the defense must have a player for the Fullback, a player for the Quarterback, and a player for the Slot Back. Additionally, in this set, the defense must also defend the Split End and the vertical threat he presents.

Coach Urban Meyer went 18-6 at Bowling Green.
Ergo, he sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He lost to New Mexico at Utah too, he must be bad.

To Rocky Long's team, right?
He is a very underrated coach, his San Diego State is starting to look good.

Sarcasm

Oh, I know he was being sarcastic.
I was just following up on his post about Rocky Long, NMU,etc
Otherwise, not really interested in the gist of this thread.

It's odd how the narrative on this board has become "every coach sucks except for the only one I'll accept for Miami." What if you'd be happy with Herman, Hue, Butch, or Fuente if we can't lure a pipe dream coach like Chip or Patterson? There isn't just one man capable of accomplishing greatness at Miami.

Losing by 25 as a double-digit home favorite is an undeniably bad loss. It shouldn't overshadow a coach's full body of work at a historically irrelevant program that won fewer than 9 games every year but one since 1963 before Fuente arrived.

It isn't losing you dumb sobs. It is the WAY you lose. Al Golden didn't get fired for losing to Clemson. He lost the job because he lost 56-0 and had no clue how to score a point or stop the opponent from doing so. Fuente just lost to Navy not just because his team looked utterly clueless against Navy's defense but because Navy dominated his team and looked almost as clueless as Al did defending the option. Some of that is talent. The Navy B Back is great but Fuente made no in game adjustments for stopping being out flanked on any pitches. He was clueless and lost any chance of being interviewed for the Miami job AT THIS TIME.

And lets add that Herman gave up 625 yards to Cincy. Not exactly worth a UM interview.

And Dantonio lost to Nebraska and we beat Nebraska. Chit ***ing happens, don't interview him because of that game.

Preach.

There is no way Butch Davis is going to be the next HC here. It will never EVER happen.

Not just b/c he's old, or that he was mediocre at UNC, or that teams rarely ever succeed when trying to recreate the past, or bc he left us back in the day.

But b/c regardless of him being at fault or not, this University doesn't need to hire a guy who is most recently known for being the coach at a program where his recruiting coordinator was getting kids agents. Period.

I have stayed away from it b/c people are having fun, but they will never, EVER hire Butch Davis.

How many coaches win every game? I cant think of any.

This is just how our fans are, I can't explain it man.

He's only taken the worst program in football and made them top 15, won 10 + games , conference and a bowl game. So ,he obviously sucks now . Double figures in wins in back to back years at Memphis isn't enough.

Its crazy. Im not a fuente guy. But acting like he sucks is retarded. There is not a perfect coach.

Dude calling a bunch of retards retarded is just not right!

This just makes too much sense.

From the *** Clown that is Butt Hurt over Folden's firing!

Nebraska won, and Dantonio lost. That is a fact although I could debate the call of the official that the offensive player clearly went out of bounds and was the first player to catch the ball. It should not have been a TD but it was not a review play. But that is kind of Karma for beating Michigan when they should have lost. These coached know Miami is evaluating them. Houston gives up 625 yards plus to Cincy, and the guy deserves the Miami job when the weakness at Miami has not been offense but defense? Fuente looks clueless against the option when we play GT every year, and he deserves a shot? No thanks.

Who would I want? I DON'T Know. That is honest. If you ask me who is the best coach out there, I say Saban. I say second is Dabo. But I have seen so many of these flash in the pan coaches that can't put together a complete program, offensively and defensively, thatI can't get excited about them. Briles coached RG III to a Heisman but I have watched him fail in the NFL as a Redskin. So being a good system guy doesn't mean much. Winston was great at FSU but would you bet the house on him in a single game? I didn't think so. Dorsey was great at UM not so much in the pro game. But certain things have been true for UM and other programs.

When Warren Sapp dominated in college, he also dominated in pros. When Sean Taylor dominated in college, he dominated in the pros. When armstead dominated in college he dominated as a pro. When Michael Irvin dominated in college he dominated as a pro. When McGahee dominated in college he dominated as a pro. When Jerome Brown dominated in college he also dominated as a pro. When Darren Smith dominated in college he dominated as a pro. When Ted Hendrix dominated in college ha dominated as a pro. When OJ Anderson dominated in college he dominated as a pro. When Portis dominated in college he dominated as a pro. When Vilma and McCarthy dominated as linebackers they were dominate as pros.

A great coach finds those players. Butch did. I can sit here and think Herman, Fuente or other finds them. I just rely on my instinct that Butch will. If he doesn't by year 4, we all agree the game has passed him by and we **** can him. But guys like Butch are special. They see the forest through the trees and they end up winners. I am willing to take this chance he is the guy.

And most of his UNC players are total jags. Butch Davis is the greatest talent evaluator ever, but coaches lose their edge. Every single one of them ends up losing it. Beamer, Bowden, Schnelly, JJ. It happens to every great coach. You are talking about Butch's successes from over 20 years ago!

And I'm sorry, but if a coach needs 4 years with this current roster to win, then HE ISN"T A COACH THAT SHOULD BE HERE.
