Can someone explain this?

Absolutely horrific ratings. Lsu is 7-4 loss two of the last 4 including a shutout. Had 2 bye weeks and a coaching change. Pitt won 3 of the last 4 and allowed a basketball score in a game. Yet a 4 game streaking Miami doesn't get a sniff? How is this possible?

Can't explain LSU but Pitt beat Clemson. That's worthy of being ranked. LSU is just supposed to be ranked according to experts.

Yeah, Clem win helps pitt out and it's hard to argue that it shouldn't. LSU gets respect for being in the SEC. May not be deserved, but that's the way it is. Lastly, voters had us in the top 10 at one point and we made them look stupid (along with ourselves) so I'm not surprised they want to see a bowl win before letting us back in.

Whatever. Win the bowl, croot the **** out of SFLA and stomp fools out next season. And for the love of god, don't leave me trying to look on the bright side next year.

Completely understand but let's look at the fsu game and make sense. I have yet to. Miami loss by a point at home to fsu and dropped 6 spots after that week (granted it was the AP but those *** clowns determine this bull**** every year... essentially based off nothing) Tennessee lost in double OT the same week and stayed at 9. HOW?

Also regardless of A Pitt win, does losing early suddenly not mean anything anymore? For YEARS the rhetoric has been. Lose early and you can still make noise. Teams are losing in November and climbing back into rankings? With that logic Tenn should've never rode momentum of last seasons win streak into a lofty ranking this season

If Miami beats FSU, this thread is never started.

If Miami beats ND, this thread is never started.

If Miami beats UNC, this thread is never started.

so they beat Clemson. so what. Miami whipped pitt. the beat them like a rented mule. that should count. I don't care that pitt and gt are our best wins the fact is we beat pitt and it wasn't close.

They must completely ignore the Miami game for Pitt. Because other than that, their other losses were close and to very good teams.

Miami losing to Notre Dame and UNC is what's killing our ability to be ranked.

But a solid bowl win will have Miami in the top 25 to end the year. And that's what matters most, IMO.

Close the recruiting class by being a top 25 program. Maybe even top 20 if we get a decent SEC opponent to beat in the bowl game.

Pitt is one of the only teams with 2 top 10 wins beating Clemson and Penn St has padded their resume for sure.

It isn't even about us for me. Hey we lost four games that honestly we should have won. However, LSU has not beaten one team on the schedule with a pulse. They just went from unranked to 21 by beating??? A&M! yeah 8-4 A&M! But this looks good for who if LSU is ranked? Wisconsin! I am thinking this whole committee is actually a new way for the powerful big ten to keep up with the southeast. Because we all know what would happen to Peen St even in the acc. They would lose a lot more than 2 games. I would love to see us play them. This whole thing reeks of Big Ten power moves. How is OSU guaranteed a spot even though they are not playing in their conference championship game? Didn't OSU benefit just a couple of years ago over TCU because TCU didn't play in a conference championship game? How in the **** does Aub only fall one spot after losing to Bama. Yet they have four losses. Yet another team that has lost to every team they have faced with a pulse.... it asinine. Only in the minds of a corrupt person can you give a team credit for losing. But when it fits your agenda its pretty easy to justify.

THIS!! they. Change the rhetoric from year to year and there is ZERO consistency. A conference they were bashing for NOT playing in the ship in TCU is now in a position to be "locked" in the top 2. As far as Tennessee and LSU. There is A CLEAR AGENDA TO KEEP A HORRIBLE SEC CONFERENCE RELEVANT. It's outrageous and I know e$ECpn has their hands all over it. This is nothing more than a ratings grab. Don't believe me? Look at the last 4 games in the schedule [provided by Siri]

Who had the better record during this stretch? Regardless of the 4 losses.

Are you telling me that "quality losses" in NOVEMBER now trumps winning in general? That's what I'm supposed to understand? And that losing in September is helping you in December? Beating a team in the top 2 3 weeks ago gets you ranked now? After surrendering SIXTY-ONE points this past week? This whole committee is BULL ****. In EVERY sense of the word

Something to give pause to....Big Ten has Ohio State-Wisconsin-Michigan-Penn State ranked 2 to 6...Be lotta Big Ten vs Sec in this years bowl games...Bothers me that Sec and Big Ten get the Lions share of bowl game money no matter who wins..

What about 8-4 Auburn? Ranked so high they are going to the Sugar Bowl and have one win over a team that is also questionably ranked.

Colorado (8) lost to USC (11). Louisville (13) lost to unranked Kentucky. Tennessee (22) lost to Vandy and USCe, both unranked.

I could go on, but I assume you get what I'm saying.

Absolutely! It's so blatantly biased. They play with the back end of the rankings do they can justify their biased picks st the top. It's pathetic really

Pitt also beat Penn St

Which means Pitt should EASILY be up near the top 5. That's how everyone justifies Ohio state and Michigan. Pitt beat 2 top 10 teams. That's more than Auburn, LSU, FSU, Tennessee but they're behind all of them with the same record or one less win. In retrospect I looked at the teams that were beat to get lofty rankings and they were never a team that were deserving to boost them back up. It was usually one of the cupcakes or a bad ooc OR a conference opponent that ended up not being good anyway. (Ex. Tenn beating TCU who should've never been ranked this year, then jumping in rank by beating tenn Tech)

So they also beat PSU. When you look at a schedule that beats two power 5 teams favoring to win their respective conferences, you usually rank them. If we had beat the crappy ND and FSU teams, we would be in the top 15 easy.
