Earlier this year, before the bowl game, we had Bubba Bolden at safety, DJ Dallas at running back, Jeff Thomas at WR, Garvin on the DL, and Donaldson at guard. Each one of those players were difference makers for this team. Losing them for the season and bowl game left us short handed. So yes, we beat Virginia and FSU with them but without them we weren't a very good team. Unfortunately only Donaldson and Bolden will be back next year. Add the lack of senior leadership and a speedy wide out to stretch the field and next year looks bleak. The OL has to improve obviously because we do have stud RBs coming in but we need decent blocking. That is why the new OC choice is so important. He needs to use a system that masks some deficiencies but also makes good use of the talent on the team. We also don't have a QB who is consistent so it is not like we can rely on the QB at this point.
