ESPN released its game-by-game win percentages for the 2026 season, and it shows there is so much hype in Miami heading into the year. The Hurricanes are favored in 11 of their 12 regular-season games, with the only loss coming on the road in the month of November.
The season opens on Sept. 4 with a trip to Stanford. ESPN gives Miami a 94.1% chance to leave Palo Alto with a win, while Stanford comes in at 5.9%. It’s a matchup the Hurricanes are expected to take care of before returning home and picking up momentum heading into the next couple weeks.
Miami’s home opener is Sept. 10 against Florida A&M. The Hurricanes own a 99.0% chance to win, with the Rattlers at 1.0%. On paper, it’s one of the most one-sided games on Miami’s schedule and Miami should take care of business pretty easily here.
Conference play continues on Sept. 18 when Miami travels to Wake Forest. ESPN has the Hurricanes at 88.1%, while Wake Forest sits at 11.9%. Another road game, but one Miami is expected to win, this game with a win could get the Hurricanes going and playing there best football especially after going and beating Wake Forest on the road in the first ACC away game of the season.
Central Michigan visits Hard Rock Stadium on Sept. 26, and the projection looks very similar to the Florida A&M game. Miami has a 99.0% chance to win, compared to 1.0% for the Chippewas. Expect the Hurricanes to come out and play there best brand of football, this one shouldn’t be close.
The first matchup that really stands out comes on Oct. 3 at Clemson. Even in Death Valley, ESPN still favors Miami with a 67.1% chance to win. Clemson checks in at 32.9%, making this one of the biggest games on the ACC schedule. This will be a hard one to win especially in one of the hardest places to play in the entire country, but with pieces like Darian Mensah, Malachi Toney, Mark Fletcher, that offense should be rolling.
After the small break, Miami hosts rival Florida State on Oct. 17. ESPN gives the Hurricanes an 87.7% chance to beat the Seminoles, who come in at 12.3%. This is one us fans are excited for, beating the Seminoles again looks very promising.
Pittsburgh is next on Oct. 24, and Miami is once again a heavy favorite. ESPN gives the Hurricanes a 90.4% chance to win, while Pitt sits at 9.6%. This is a game that could be a trickier type of game, being close early then Miami pulling away in the later quarters. I expect Pittsburgh to play their best football especially coming into Hard Rock Stadium.
On Halloween, Miami heads to North Carolina. The Hurricanes have an 85.5% chance to win, with the Tar Heels at 14.5%. Bill Belichick won’t have enough weapons to stop Miami defense flying around everywhere, it could get ugly very quickly.
The biggest challenge of the regular season comes Nov. 7 in South Bend. Notre Dame is the only team favored over Miami this season, earning a 70.6% chance to win. The Hurricanes check in at 29.4%, making this their toughest projected game of the year. Notre Dame will be looking to get back at Miami after losing the season opener to them, and these teams do not like each other. Plain and simple the hate is real and we will see who wants it more come Nov. 7 in South Bend.
