He also led them to 3-9, 3-9, 1-11 records and one of those 3-9 records was in his 5th year after having 4+years to build the teamTook them to their first two bowl games.

Mario is 35-13 at Oregon. His FIU record of 27-46 skews his career performance. He has matured as a coach since FIU.I keep seeing things like his career record etc. But does no one believe the program can elevate him as it did with jj Dennis? I think detractors think his record should be better than what it is so he’ll fail here. I think here he’s in the best recruiting situation of his head coaching career.
The respect he has among hs coaches is a BIG BIG plus and advantage he has over any other candidate. That alone will help boost recruiting a few levelsI keep seeing things like his career record etc. But does no one believe the program can elevate him as it did with jj Dennis? See…this is the problem I have with that “Mario will be here 15 years” ****…how long has it been since our last championship? Exactly. What good is being at Miami for 15 years if you can NEVER quite get over the hump?!?! That’s UGA under Richt?!?! DAMMIT, I DONT WANT TO BE UGA, I WANT TO WIN CHIPS!!!!! *** BEING A “CONSISTENTLY “GOOD” PROGRAM?!?! WE ARE MIAMI!!!!!Mario has great qualities as a coach. And he also has bad qualities as a coach. Kirby smart is a lazy comparison and also inaccurate. Kirby comes with a scheme. Mario is more Mack brown or Bobby Bowden than he is Kirby. So the name of the game is recruit great talent. Run a clean program. Get great assistants. Mack is old as the hills but he did that in his earlier years. Bowden did that obviously. Can Mario replicate that?
The thing that attracts me to Mario is that he could be here for 15 years. Lane will be here max 4 years. It’s his way. And if he lands arch no chance he leaves. That’s his ticket right there

Interesting Oregon fans talk about how they have had so many OC’s with Mario and that he is stubborn and hard to get along with. Is this a red flag ?His great recruiting has masked his gross coaching ineptitude when you go up against similarly talented teams you need coaching to get you over the top and I have zero confidence Mario can do that
Offensively he is clueless so he probably has no idea what a good OC looks likeInteresting Oregon fans talk about how they have had so many OC’s with Mario and that he is stubborn and hard to get along with. Is this a red flag ?
Well Lashlee finally figured it out we need another Lashlee never thought I would say that.Offensively he is clueless so he probably has no idea what a good OC looks like
Miami circa 2020 can NOT elevate Mario. Now, if we inflate our budget to a level in line with Oregon and an AD shows up with experience with big budgets, then yes. Miami can totally elevate Mario or any other coach.I keep seeing things like his career record etc. But does no one believe the program can elevate him as it did with jj Dennis? If you look at Mario’s record, break it out between FIU and Oregon. Overall 62-60, FIU 27-47, Oregon 35-13, he did improve at Oregon with tougher competition. He should be able to improve his recruiting at UM in a conference comparable to or slightly better than the PAC 12.I keep seeing things like his career record etc. But does no one believe the program can elevate him as it did with jj Dennis?
