can fsu's offense score with miami?

FSU is 124th in defensive yards per play allowed.

They're 91st in scoring defense.

They've played 4 power schools:

SMU had 585 yards and repeatedly shot itself in the foot or would've scored 50
Alabama DID score 50, on another 567 yards
UVA....I have no idea, but they're awful, and FSU smashed them
Louisville scored 44 on 400 rushing yards.

Can they score some points? Sure. Can they score enough to scare us with how many we’re gonna score? Nah.

This right here!

Did we not just see what happened in the Texas-Oklahoma game?

This is a rivalry game. All records, tendencies, etc. go out the window. Weird **** happens in these matchups.

We also have an opposing coach coaching for his employment.

Do not take those boys lightly.
OU has a T10 defense. FSU isn’t even remotely close to that. Regardless what is thrown out there. Texas also should’ve lost at least once before Saturday, maybe two if Tennessee wasn’t awful on offense.

I get the rivalry aspect of it. But at some point that will wear off. For FSU to win this game they will have to play mistake free 60 minutes while we play mistake filled 60 minutes. So I’m not buying that we do an entire 180 on how we’ve played this season and FSU does the same. FSU also hasn’t won a road game in almost two seasons.

Sure crazy things have happened. I just haven’t seen FSU put anything on tape that makes me believe they can play well enough over 60 minutes to win. Maybe they keep it close and we sweat some. I just don’t see it happening. FSU literally has to have every single thing break their way.

Mensah would have to throw like five picks for us to lose. We aren’t one dimensional enough for that even be a possibility imo.

With all due respect , OU vs. Texas is a bad example.
We knew going into that one OU’s Defense could make Manning play like crap.
Special teams was also something of an equalizer.

Miami does not make as many mistakes and there really isn’t any advantage F$U has over us in any match up other than maybe their RBs against our LBs. And even that may not be the case.
Nothing you say is incorrect, but you are speaking logically and rationally. Those concepts fly out the window during a rivalry game. On paper, we should murder these dudes by 4 TD's and push for 70 pts.

They were AWFUL last season while we went to the mfn National Championship game, and we only beat them by 6. The coulda, shoulda, woulda doesn't matter in this game. There's always a coulda, shoulda, woulda.

All I'm saying is, don't take this game lightly and expect the unexpected.

The line in the OU/UT game was 7.5

We are -21.5

We both can randomly pick strange rivalry situations as we have both done and say “you never know”.

But we also can look at it analytically and objectively say that Miami is clearly better than F$U and this could be like 2020 type of blowout score as well.

Texas crapping the bed against OU has little to nothing to do with our game.

i can't see them stopping us ... but i also see stretches of frustrating tackling and qb runs that keep them alive
The one thing we have been pretty good at is eye discipline. We stay disciplined, they don't do much.

Watch those screens and get Thornton under control with his tackling. If we lose this game in my opinion it would be one of the biggest upsets of all time. I see it playing out like the central michigan game.

True, bun not every rivalry game is a nail biter, either. Our series with FSU has plenty of lopsided blowouts when one team was far superior to the other.

There are a lot of years i sit down to this game and have some doubt about whether something weird will happen. Last year that lasted about a quarter.

This year, I feel as comfortable about beating them as I did about central Michigan.

They are not good. Weird things can happen when there's a smaller talent gap. They are a bad football team with far inferior talent.

Their offense is reliant on missed tackles. If you miss tackles they can sustain drives. If Miami is sloppy FSU can score 20+ points.

The flip side of that is Daniels has an incredibly low completion % and he gets sacked a lot. So if you can tackle and force them to throw they can go 3 and out and not take much time off the clock. That's why Miami could really pull away if they play well early.

Worst case scenario I think we can at times overthink it and stop ourselves on offense.
I think they can get tricky and run well-especially off script with the QB.

Should still win by double digits in that scenario

The only way we lose the game is if we do what Texas did with OU. Give up non-offensive TDs. As long as we don’t help them out, the game won’t be in doubt come 3rd quarter.

Who have they scored with besides bama somewhat? Only scored 24 vs a bad smu defense. Only scored 20 vs louisville. I don’t see it
SMU gave them 4 turnovers and they only scored 24 points.

Oklahoma would blow FSU out and Arch can’t carry Mensah’s jock strap.
