Kinda sounds like he was actually supposed to only play a quarter. I'm pretty sure I heard him say he played longer than what Dawson originally wanted him to.

He did say that he played longer than originally planned so you may be right.

I don't remember seeing it mentioned. I do remember a lot of speculation that Cam just didn't keep playing to protect his draft grade. And Mario didn't answer when asked in the post game presser so there was confusion about it and a lot of people angry with Cam for not finishing the game
