Wingo is potentially a guy that the coaches can't keep off the field too? WR room looks awesome. Josh Moore and Upshaw did really good work for true freshmen this year.Wr core will be much more dynamic and more speed. Good luck loading the box.
Wingo has looked really good on scout team . He’ll definitely have a roleWingo is potentially a guy that the coaches can't keep off the field too? WR room looks awesome. Josh Moore and Upshaw did really good work for true freshmen this year.
Gotta also think these guys know whose throwing the ball to them next yearWr core will be much more dynamic and more speed. Good luck loading the box.
He brought instant leadership. And where would we be without his OBJ catch first game?I think Daniel’s was worth every $
He brought a valuable skill set. Still don’t think he’s 100% healthy. His leadership has been invaluable. Made handful of big big plays that helped win games.
Asking for the sake of convo - why do you agree with this approach rather then going and getting an alpha outside receiver to pair with Toney? If we aren’t spending it there and spending it on trenches, what player(s) command that kind of dollars to forego a true big time X? Especially when we have enough young depth to replace the Marion/Daniels production. This is the outside dude . I like this one a lot. Physical , runs good enough routes , high points ball well and has good enough speed. A faster CJ Daniel’s.
A few weeks ago I said I’d rather go get two guys with upside that’s played well versus spending on one guy like Coleman . This is perfect with Vaughn and Jacob’s.
I believe in spending and focusing inside out. Wr is all about production, like money ball. I can go get two guys who’ll likely out play one guy together for less money . I want to spend on qb’s, protecting the qb and getting to the qb. This year’s team is the perfect example of what I’ve been preaching for years. Great trenches opens up everything. Why spend 3-4 million on a wr like smith when you can add 5-6 good starters for that? It makes no sense in a world there’s not endless money. More good players on a roster versus one great player with solid players.Asking for the sake of convo - why do you agree with this approach rather then going and getting an alpha outside receiver to pair with Toney? Cam Vaughn, a four-star Portal WR from West Virginia, has committed to the University of Miami.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound wide receiver from Villa Rica, Georgia began his career with Jacksonville State before following Rich Rodriguez to Morgantown.
In 2025, Vaughn appeared in 13 games for West Virginia and recorded 35 receptions for 541 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 15.5 yards per catch on a team that struggled to at the quarterback position.
Before arriving in Morgantown, Vaughn was one of the most productive receivers in the FCS at Jacksonville State. During the 2024 season he led the Gamecocks with 48 catches for 803 yards and five touchdowns, consistently serving as their top perimeter threat. His season included several big performances, highlighted by a nine-catch, 183-yard, one-touchdown outing in Jacksonville State’s Cure Bowl appearance.
Vaughn was a standout three-sport athlete at Temple High School in Georgia, lettering in football, basketball, and track. On the football field he was a do-everything weapon who played quarterback early in his career before moving outside. He was named his region’s Offensive Player of the Year as a senior after leading Temple to a playoff run while accounting for thousands of yards of total offense. In basketball, Vaughn was a starting wing known for his ability to play above the rim and defend multiple positions, and in track he competed in sprint and jump events.
Vaughn played with Miami safety Zechariah Poyser at Jacksonville State. Miami nickel coach Terry Jefferson was on Jacksonville State's staff at that time.
The Canes previously landed a commitment from WR Vandrevius Jacobs (South Carolina). Vaughn and Jacobs will work to replace CJ Daniels and Keelan Marion in Miami's WR corps.
How fast is he ?We just found our CJ Daniels replacement. Funny since we found our replacement for Keelan Marion with Vandrevius Jacobs.
I’m big fan of Cam Vaughn. Big WR, solid route running, outside but can play inside.
I know some didn’t believe WR was a need in the Portal due to incoming freshman + Moore, Trader but to me this room needed veterans to replace Daniels and Marion.
Great work Mario
how would he have 3? should only be 2 since he played both years and started college after COVID yearHe has 3 years left ? Now we need a qb
Is he the field stretcher type .The wr room has went from lacking talent to being a strength after the HS and portal class.
