Cam looking impressive

This is the thing with Cam (and I love him), but he does not deal punishment like his body would suggest. That’s typically a mentality thing, imo. I don’t at all mean he’s weak or anything of the sort, I just don’t think the jacked up, bruiser style is his true game. He’s much more of an open field runner who strides out ahead of defenders, and that’s fine! The body just doesn’t fit the style is all.

The problem was our oline is poor run blocking and from the middle of the season on Cam Harris only got the dive play on 1st downs that was very bvious in Lashlees playbook.

Matter of fact someone should sticky thi spost.......AFTER EVERYBIG + PLAY maybe over 20 yds.....that **** dive play will be the call... you can book it

I dont think they used him properly in the passing game either (rooster too). He has soft hands and is a nightmare out of the backfield they need to utilize him and knighton more.

I think cam will have a better pro career than he has here (because of the mediocre oline past seasons) floor Alfred Morris.... And as someone else posted Nick Chubb in resemblance and would be his ceiling from my point of view.

Agree.
You look at a RB built like him and you expect the kid to have a mean stiff arm, abuse tacklers frequently, break tackles all of the time, etc. He doesn't do those things. He's a finesse RB in a bruiser RB's body.

I'm sure he gets a lot of chicks during spring break though.
 
Two most impressive guys I’ve seen is practice this season are Rambo and Cam. I’m a Don guy period. However, he’s taken it to the next level. X, Dre, Tyrique and Smith are a close second. I’ll see this week who’s taking it to the next level with pads. With shorts and no contact, those guys seem to be the most game ready now.

Nailed it. I'd say:

- Cam usually is strong enough to run through arm tackles
- Cam occasionally takes contact to a defender and gets 1-2 extra yds. But that defender almost always tackles him.
- Cam rarely takes a clean shot from a defender, stays on his feet and keeps running

When Cam wins - it's usually with Speed. It's occasionally with Moves. It's rarely with Power.

I recall a couple of posters on here when Cam and Lingard were being recruited that said Cam would be the better college back and they got **** on by the board. I honestly thought it was going to be another smash and dash. Hoping for big things from Cam this year.

Love to see Cam do well but at this size he will have to prove he has the speed that is being talked about. Just not buying it he got caught from behind to many times last year.
 
I like Cam. He’s got breakaway speed and runs hard. But he’s not an NFL running back. Or at least he isn’t yet. A guy with his center of gravity should have better balance. If he has a hole he hits it fast but he doesn’t change direction smoothly. He has to jump cut which slows his momentum. I know he didn’t always have great blocking but eventually a good back learns to get yards even when there’s no clear hole. For example, Deejay Dallas ran for more yards on fewer carries in a worse system with worse blocking in 2019. Cam is gonna get a lot of carries this year and the run blocking should be more consistent. Hopefully he’ll be able to bump his production and make the jump from “solid RB” to star player.
 
Average RB with physical talents who will be scheme dependent… he’s not the answer as he’s just not a natural running back like Chaney is but nope he improves this year.. he seemed more fluid his freshman year
