Cam Coleman

We don't have any "young talent" anywhere close to Coleman. Toney for sure, but he's a completely different type of receiver. Moore and Upshaw did look good for freshman, but again, nowhere near Coleman's level. Trader...nah. We should be about done with that experiment. Won't see the field next year.

I agree that Coleman probably isn't worth that kind of money, but he would be a massive upgrade over anybody we have playing his position. By the way, I really like what I see from Moore and Upshaw. They are going to do good things for us, but they aren't Coleman.
I wonder if not paying for talent sentiment will change over next 48 hours.. We NEED gamebreakers/IMPACT players.. NEEEEEEEEED..

Do we really want to spend $2.5m+ on a receiver when we have a bunch of needs to fill elsewhere?
Ask me again after we see our WRs against OSU lol

edit: thought about a bit and tortured myself by reviewing all the .95+ 247 Composite HS WR we have signed since we won our last championship. Move heaven and earth and stacks of cash to get this guy please. I just want to have an elite ranked WR who isn't a bust for the first time in a long time. Pretty sure Ryan Moore and Stacy Coley were the two best .95+ Composite WR we have signed since 2002. Completely ludicrous.

People say we have needs but we'll probably end up taking half the amount of portal guys we did last year. Plus with added support from boosters among with the 4 mil plus playoff bonus, we can go crazy in portal

As I said, as long as we get one of the following for the WR position, we’ll be straight
Coleman, Marsh, TJ Moore, Duff

Any of those that we can get, do it. And get ready for the Toney Heisman campaign, because he will have 1v1 for days.

Pay up to get the best player you can get. If it's Coleman, then do it. I'd rather have one elite WR than two pretty good ones to pair with Toney. We have a lot of pretty good WR already. What we need is someone so good teams have to choose whether to key on them or on Toney.

It's worth the money.

Rather get a good WR and a top TE give how often we use 2TE no matter what than just an even better WR like Coleman.

Just make sure our QB choice is the right one.

True but having that DUDE on the outside changes things. Would it be either Marion/Johnson or Cam type talent? Or those two don’t even equal that?
I’m not spend big on wr guy. I’d much rather have 3-4 good wr’s to go with Toney. I like spending on trenches , qb and sprinkle the rest on skill guys. You can get real high level talent with a million. No cam or JS types but more than good enough. For instance I’d rather spend on somebody like Nick Marsh who’s nowhere near as expensive but brings close to the same skill set as Cam. Big physical outside guy. Gotta be smart how you allocate money building roster.

Rank these in terms of cost.
Marsh, Duff, TJ Moore, Cam.

I agree with you that I rather not break bank/budget on Cam if it means sacrifices other places. But I would really love to have one of these four if our bank/budget would allow.

Would love a good, athletic TE if possible. Who is out there that would fit this profile?

Cam is in his own tier imo. The other three are likely tier two .Cam is a physical specimen but imo he’s not a tactician or polished wr. He just overwhelm’s you with physical ability.
