Caleb Herring - Edge from UTenn

Look man, I’ll give them the benefit but if you don’t like keeley then you shouldn’t like this kid. Dude disappears on tape and he was a starter I believe.
If you are going to get a high upside type player, why wouldn’t you go for Keeley instead of Herring. Maybe Keeley wants too much money. I don’t understand why we aren’t going for any elite portal edges, all of our targets seem like rotational players.

Looks like we go shopping at ALDIS and dont want to grab top end of the market talent, unless its at QB. i think DE, WR, and LB they should be looking for top 1-3 players at those positions. Having 1st rd talent at DE is what got us where we are.

Did I post a single thing about liking (or not liking) his game? Nope.

Just starting a thread for a guy visiting Miami.

You're stacking Ls like its your job. Maybe you should take a breather from posting.

Little surprised given the influx of cash and the success we are having.

Imagine being so butthurt that you have to fake arguments in other threads. Did I quote your post? Go get some therapy.

Were Keonte, Jakobe, CJ or Marion considered top tier portal recruits?
All were highly coveted yes. But I would not say high end. But does this mean we should not sign a Cam Coleman? Isaac Brown? we should always expect to strike gold on mid-level talent? Because that is not sustainable. Yea last year some turned out well. Run it back to Meesh Powell, how did that turn out?

None of those 3 were highly coveted. Each of them jumped in and were immediately linked to Miami.

Not going to hate because of how well our staff dominated the portal last year especially with their evaluations. Thomas, Scott, Blay, O’Connor…. Do I need to keep going? Going to need edge rushers and bigger ones for sure. Not sure if Lightfoot will ever start considering his weight. I trust Taylor and as long as Heatherman is DC, I trust him.

So much crying for day 2 lol

No commits =
Sad Happy Hour GIF

@Calinative

Can we get a pressure breakdown here? Probably need it here to understand what we’re not seeing.
Herring, 6'5" 245lbs (already not the type of EDGE I think we need which is a SDE thats more in the 265lb mold)
3 yrs of defensive grades overall: 25 - 54.8, 24 - 64.8, 23 - 55.3.
3 yrs of pash rush grades: 25 - 63.9, 24 - 61.5, 23 - 63.1
3 yrs of RunD grades: 25 - 52.7, 24 - 68.3, 23 - 55.3

Thats bad.

This year he's played 369 total snaps, 186 of which are pass rush. 16 pressures, 10 hurries, 5 sacks, 12 Defensive Stops, PassRushProductivity 5.9%, 8.1% WinRate. 62.6 rush grade on true rush sets, with a passrushproductivity of 11.3%, and 12.9% WinRate on true pass sets.

Not a guy I'd go after at all based on production.
I assume though he's probably an elite athlete. But my biggest gripe with this add would be he'd be basically doing the same stuff Lightfoot (and pickett) would be asked to just at like currently like 10lbs heavier. We need a 265lb type EDGE type imo
