The problem is that it feels like whenever every other team does something to help us, we end up losing again anyways, making the whole thing useless.

This right here. The rest of the ACC absolutely takes joy in beating us and takes our games very serious. I see a completely different attitude from the coaches and players on teams like UVA and Louisville when play us as opposed to when they play each other. It's just more important to them. I don't know if we feel the same for any ACC teams, outside of FSU. I don't even know if we consider Virgina Tech as one of our main rivals anymore, but I can guarantee they still despise us and will be motivated to play us.

Virgina, NC, NC State, GT, Duke, Pitt, Wake, etc...they all view us (and FSU to an extent) as their most hated opponents and rival. While Miami views FSU, UF, ND, and a couple others as rivals. Really only 1 true rival in the ACC. We just don't have that fire to beat them silly like they do for us.
 
If we're not beating the dregs of the acc (vt/stanford/syracuse) by 30 then we're not good. I think we cover today, if we can't beat down some crap teams then we can't compete in the playoffs.

one more thing if the refs didn’t blow the non off side call when GT jumped offsides vs wake they would need help too . That has been the worse call I seen all year and that’s saying something with the acc refs . They all should be fired

I hear you there brother, but we simply do not do that. We don’t hit them in the mouth over and over until they fold, at least not our fellow ACC opponents.

Look at last year. How many teams did we make fold? Maybe 3? And possibly 1 was ACC

UF- not ACC
USF - not ACC
FSU- our rival. Not even sure we made them fold
Wake - Guess one could say we made them fold as we did pull away going into the 4th. But they were abysmal last year.

So we made 1 ACC team fold that wasn’t our rival and they sucked.

So far this year, we have played 2 ACC games and didn’t make our rival fold and lost the other one.

Mario *** should be on the clock after this year imo . It’s playoffs or bust even the announcers say Miami is the most talented team in the acc .

If we win out it's all just noise and we make the playoffs.

Might even be better to go 11-1 and not make the ACC title game so we get the bye week

I don’t know if he should be on the clock if we don’t make the playoffs, but the seat should definitely be getting a little warmer.

We could very well finish the season with the same record as last year and find ourselves out of the playoffs again. 10-2 looks good overall to many people. Am I satisfied with that record and not making the playoffs? Absolutely not, but many of our fans and probably some of the admin are thrilled with that. We can always hang our hat on being the state champs of Florida. Yippie, whoohoo, yay!! Don’t get me wrong, it was nice to handle our two in state rivals and also USF, but I’d rather trade a loss to one of them if it meant going to the playoffs.

There are still no excuses not to make the playoffs this year. We already used our mulligan, but still have a chance. Call me a stupid sunshine pumper, but I still believe we can win out. Don’t think this game against Stanford will tell us much, but I think the SMU game will.

They won’t all be dog fights. People are just freaking out because we lost.

I’m more worried about the VT game than the Pitt game.

What I’m saying is if we need to go to the portal every yr, that’s an indictment. No portal QB is coming here as a backup, which means it’s becoming futile to even recruit the position aggressively if the solution every season is “portal.”

The portal is a box of chocolates, & I don’t think it’s wise to always use that as a mechanism. That means every year a QB from another system has to learn a new system & we may get a Ward or we may get a Jackson Arnold.
