Cal 10:30pm

As someone in the military. I've had to wake up at all kinds of times to watch the Canes.

I remember watching Miami beat UF at Giovanni Pastramis in Waikiki at breakfast time.

I remember watching Miami lose while in a villa in the Philippines.

Taking 2 hour chows to watch as much as i could of a game in Okinawa at lunch time.

Sitting on the floor in the electronics department of the exchange to watch Miami get a safety against Louisville then get killed.

Watching Miamis season from Bogota last year.

And now Cams Team while in Arizona.

Its fun to mix up the times and places. To me, it adds to the experience.
Bottom bunk in an Estonian Defense Force barracks watching us beat 8&4 at 330 am last year.

19 other dudes who had to wake up at 6 am for the ****tiest breakfast they’d ever pay for:

go to sleep GIF

My son has a travel ball tournament that weekend. We'll likely have to be at the ballpark around 8:00-9:00 Sunday morning. Going to be tough

Thank goodness Cam is use to those late night game when he played for WSU. I don’t see it being a problem.

This is great. I'll tell my wife we can go Pumpkin Picking and have lunch. She'll be so happy we did something on a Saturday, I'll also reward her by putting that *** to sleep by 10 and then I get a nice quiet night with my Canes. Win Win.
My plan to the T.

I was selfishly happy when I saw the time. Like with this week's Friday night game, it's good to just relax and concentrate only on Miami with no distraction of other games. I don't understand people who think 10:30 on a saturday night is unbearably late, but the time slot does seem like disrespect to an east coast top 10 team in a conference game.

That's a 730pm prime time game here in Hawaii. Ill be at the bar for that one!

Edit: thought it was 1030PST because of Cal. He'll thats a 4:30 game which gives even more time for drinking activities.

its late and I will probably fall asleep during the game but I don't mind it...one of the only games on at that time means more eyeballs.

it isn’t disrespect. The west coast team is at home and they are having Miami for a prime time game which it will be 7:30 west coast time

The ACC is intentionally trying to tank Miami's TV ratings to keep us from joining the Big 10.

I'm sure you're joking/not joking. But something about this 5 week stretch doesn't pass the smell test.

Florida A&M ACCXN - only available through WatchESPN

Ball State - ACCN - lost coverage mid game for Virginia vs Maryland

USF - ESPN - lost coverage mid game for BYU vs K-State

VT - ESPN - Friday night game that, let's be honest, most people won't watch (including ALL high school recruits who can't watch)

Cal - ESPN - 10:30 kickoff - Outside of our fans, most people living in the EST time-zone will not be watching this game.

This is happening to Miami as a top 10 team, with the current Heisman favorite at QB. If the ACC's "TV ratings based payout" idea was in effect, we'd have a serious problem on our hands.

I'm not sure the game will be over by the time the AP voters have to vote.

This will definitely hurt us in the coaches poll, they will have already gone to bed after their Sports Information Directors voted on their behalf...
anyone know how AP voters actually determine their rankings? do you they just look at the score and stats? do they watch highlights of the game?

/serious answers only

ESPN chooses where the game is broadcast and at what time when they have the rights. This isn’t a massive conspiracy.

They have moved other games/teams to secondary viewing that aren’t competitive to show the start of a new game. If we were in a tight game with USF they wouldn’t have been moving it.

Fox is putting named teams on Friday nights. Oregon was on everyone list to make playoffs and have 2 Friday night games. UCLA, Washington, Michigan State, USC all have Friday night b10 games as well.

For the Cal game ESPN has a 1030 ET slot to fill. If you’re ESPN what is going to garner more viewers that can realistically start at 1030 ET? Miami at Cal, Tarleton at Southern Utah, Kansas at Arizona State, Idaho State at Cal Poly,

Put us on at the 730 slot where they have Kansas/ASU and we’re competing against the FSU/Clemson/Arkansas/Tennesee games. Why would they want to dilute the ABC/ESPN games even more at that time slot?

Man, shut the **** up with this nonsense.

There are currently EIGHT other games featuring Top 25 teams that have not yet been assigned kickoff times.

Four or five of those games will not be on ESPN. VaTech-Stanford could easily have been given the 10:30 pm slot. Stop acting like ESPN is trying to get huge numbers at 10:30 pm. Noon, 4 pm, and 7 pm are FAR more important timeslots for ratings.

A week from now, Miami may be an undefeated Top 5 team. Cal will still be 3-1, they have a bye week. GameDay has never gone to Cal, and this may be the chance, there are a lot of storylines with conference realignment and the coast-to-coast ACC and Big 10 setups.

The Tennessee-Arkansas game has a flex time right now. Arkansas likely loses this week at aTm.

F$U-Clemson should be on ACCN at this point. As for Kansas-ASU, I'm not even going to dignify that one.

For you to act as if ESPN absolutely needed to put UM-Cal at 10:30 pm, while EIGHT other games have yet to be scheduled, is just ridiculous.

Welcome to the new ACC, it sucks, but this is the new reality of having a conference that spans across the entire country.

Selfishly, I don't mind it. The kids and wife will be in bed and no other life distractions going on at 1030pm on a Saturday night.
