Cager

Who should have been playing instead of Cager besides hightower? Upperclassman get the benefit of the doubt in alot of places if the product will be about the same on the field

They have no clue if the product is the same or not, that is the point. They are playing upperclassmen based on purely them being upperclassmen. Stop being brainwashed by Richt's philosophy, which by the way isn't working.

Yalll want those kids to play then next year yall gone be talking about they suck and cant wait for the recruits to replace them. Never ending cycle

Patchan confirming it?

Was wondering about that. I thought maybe he was talking about Kelly Bryant, but who the **** knows. I'm not sure Cager, who has been here for 4 years, would be scared of competition. He wasn't scared of JT or Pope or AR at the beginning of the year, but now he's scared of who's left? Would be strange.

Not sure. But this was 18 minutes ago that he posted this? KB announced a couple of weeks ago that he wasn't going to OV to Miami.

Yeah, that didn't really make sense to me either, but it was just the first thought that popped into my head during the 3 seconds of thought I gave to a tweet from a 20 year old kid. Maybe Bryant announcing tonight just reminded him? Or maybe Cager's gone. Or maybe someone on XBox logged off before his FIFA match was over.

It very well could be the latter.

I know, I had heard the same thing from people close to Pope for months now. I been telling people on here that the issue with the young guys in the locker room was real & they had a legitimate gripe especially because Cager wasn't a leader by example in practice. Meaning, the reason for him being the starter was solely because he's a upperclassmen & his relationship with Dugs & not because of his practice habits.

And this has been my general gripe with Richt and the staff. This also was likely the line of thinking in terms of the QB position this season. Not trying to sway the direction of the thread; but posters saying that Perry and Williams not rising up and ripping the QB job from Rosier didn't know what they were talking about. They likely weren't really afforded the opportunity. You could apply the same concept with the WR position as well.

He didn't earn the benefit of the doubt, that's the point. His play on the field or in practice didn't justify it, this wasn't a situation where he knew what to do while the youngsters didn't, he was equally as insufficient & made the same mistakes with far less upside.

I have a hard time bashing players with these awful coaches.

People did the same thing to players during Coker, Shannon and Golden. I get you do not like the performance on the field...no one would. But if these WRs or OL played for a real coach with a real offense would they be so bad...?

Let me see how they perform for decent coaches before I throw them in the trash.
Coaches make players not catch easy balls?

Yeah he went from a CiS Biletnikoff award finalist coming into the season. Too being a guy that needs to GTFO.

I'm not sure we really can afford for him too leave. Without him on the roster. We would be down to 7 WR if Payton sticks. Granted he has his flaws but him playing over others is down to the coaches.

Thank you.

CIS would rather have no team than have guys who aren't as good as CIS randomly decided they were during the spring.

That's true, but is that a reason to want him gone? Are we that secure at WR and that sure he won't get better next season that we'd rather he leave. And keep in mind our scholarship situation...it's not like he's taking up a critical spot and/or we've got a bunch of better guys coming in.
