If you watched the two different scrimmage 1 highlight videos, I'm pretty sure he caught at least two passes, one on a nice out route and throw from Perry. Just because you haven't heard anything, doesn't necessarily mean he hasn't done anything. Media sees 10 minutes of practice and the coaches usually just talk about specific players media ask about because it's hard to remember every play someone makes in a two hour practice unless it's really spectacular or catches everyone's attention. Cager isn't AR, but that doesn't mean he sucks either.
