Have made posts the last month highlighting that the issue isn’t player related. This is coaching. Diaz laid a foundation defensively as a coordinator, but he shouldn’t have been hired as HC. One game is OLINE, another SPT, and another will be something else. Doesn’t matter. The player play is a reflection of the coaching staff. Unc highlighted what real coaching can do with subpar talent in one year. We are highlighting the opposite. Our curse will continue with diaz. The university of Miami will never return until we are given a head guy who is truly capable of maximizing the players of the U. Plain and simple.

First year head coaches ALWAYS have issues. A guy like Brown has been around the block and can mask some of those issues, but Manny may take a bit longer to get the engine firing on all cylinders.

I’m not worried... yet. Realistically, if we make our kicks we’re 2-0 right now. We HAVE to clean up special teams.

Well here is the issue with special teams. Manny decided to put his friend as ST coach. Patke had never coached ST and is doing it part time since he is still the OLB coach.
Maybe he will learn from it and make changes to his staff but it was his decision to not get an experienced ST coach to solve our ST issues.
Issues we had last year.
