C.J Henderson

Im just glad he didn't wait until the day before signing day. Gives us time to evaluate next option

I just heard an interesting take on what's going on here. We have to remember this teenage kid has never before really played corner. It's something that's brand new to him & he seems to still be really uncomfortable with. That being said he sees what we're bringing in already & knows the direction were heading with future recruits. Another words he lacks the confidence to know that he'll be able to start at corner & carve a future out for himself when we're lining up studs at that position 2 deep already. So he's trigger shy against them goons. It's not at all his relationship with bandy or baez or anyone else. It's a lack of confidence. If we really want him we might be best served by telling him well put him on offense & special teams.

UF already has like 3 other corners coming in for his class. Not buying that. Just sounds like Shannon swayed the dad.

#1 UF has nothing to do with this. #2 UF has been selling him on playing both sides of the ball primarily offense

any insight of if we were looking at him possibly playing offense? lord knows we could use the speed on that side of the ball

He's been told that's a possibility. Problem is he knows deejay will get first crack at that which he legitimately deserves. Deejay is a flat out stud. Henderson is just fast in a straight line.

The funniest thing anout thiss is his tweet about rumph being the greatest coach hes ever talked too hours before decommiting lol. Almost as funny as rumph promoting wilsons announcements on his pops podcast lol

Let me get this straight... We have Deejay Dallas, Trajan Bandy, Billy Gibson, and Brian Edwards as die hard canes.. A spot opens up on our board for another elite player and our fans are crying. I mean that is a good DB class without Henderson and I would not be surprised if there were some surprises this year like it was last year with Romeo Finley.. I didn't see too many people predicting his commitment. So here I am enjoying this season not worried about what this staff will do at all... Feels good - Beat FSPOO

The kid wants to run track. Randy sold he and his dad on the track program at Florida and he wants to run in the Olympics. That's all to it...Florida has a decent track program and his dad pushed that on him. That's it...end of story. If he wants to be there let him go. People are whining over a kid who isn't a true corner

Staff pushed for this. Not at all saying they didn't want him, they definitely did but going to the swamp our big rivalry game was not going to happen for one of our commits. Coach don't take no ****. Byrd flat out lied to him last year.

After losing Byrd, we have failed to land three guys we clearly wanted badly from Miami Southridge, Miami Columbus, and American Heritage to the University of Florida - which happens to look like a total dumpster fire this year. Some of the people who expressed concern over Henderson's commitment are already talking about Jobe, too. There's a very serious problem with our recruiting of the CB position, and we better stop saying "we'll get em next year". We seem to be doing pretty **** well at every other position besides maybe OL. We got some ostriches on the board.

Yeah something is up. We have immediately playing time to offer and a team that is on the up and up.

Bizarre we are struggling at CB.

You have to look at this from the kids point of view. #1 first & foremost is that immediate playing time is REALLY deceiving. He is not in line period for immediate playing time at corner... do any of you actually believe that were gonna start or even give significant minutes to a kid who's never really played the position period let alone for a team that will compete nationally next year.you're tripping if u do. #2 even if every other corner on the roster dies before camp, his playing time for his collegiate career is limited to just next year as a corner. **** how yall feel. As a fact right this second were turning away monsters at dB for 18 & 19. This isn't golden saying were taking one cause next year is so deep than we pick away from jersey crap. These boys are locked in for 18 & 19 & Henderson will never play over any of them from day 1. It's a sad fact of recruiting. There's only so many spots to go around. He'll end up either with us or Michigan. Doubt UF will pull him.

To be fair, this is Colbert's first season as a CB. I know its not the same situation, as he is a graduate transfer, and I don't think we would have started Henderson, but I do think he would at least get playing time next year as our depth is that bad.

I'm not sure who told you that but Adrian played corner up until his junior year in high school. He was raised playing corner & safety. On top of that our depth is nowhere near bad enough for that to happen as we are getting DB's this year as well. We have several cb on campus that Rumph likes as a whole but hates **** about & needs to correct it. For instance I know I told ya'll about Jackson being in the doghouse for a sec but it's because of his practice habits & work ethic. He's liked as a player & potential wise. Same with Redwine. Wouldn't be surprised to see jacquan at cb next year either if need be. Well be fine. No one kid who hasn't even played the position he's being recruited at is gonna slow us down.

Most likely broke him the news and rumph understood his decision to decomitt

The whole true corner thing is bull to me. What the **** is the point of coaches if everybody comes in ready to play.
Does he need to add weight? yes
Does he need to learn the CB position? absolutely
But you cannot teach game breaking speed and athleticism he has every tool to work with.

My bad was just basing off of college. I trust Redwine, and I would trust Jaquan at CB too but I think we will need him at safety especially with both starters graduating. I feel like at least one more CB can step up for next season (probably Jackson who you pointed out), but I still think our depth is really bad next year.
