Buzz around Wisconsin Job

I can't see Pitt hiring Golden, but if Pitt were to hire another HC from a school in the Northeast (UConn, BC, Rutgers, etc.) I could see that school taking Golden off our hands.

Per a Wisconsin Beat Writer Paul Chryst is poised to be the new Wisconsin head coach....possibility it could be announced in the next few days

Nothing definitive but this looks like the scenario

The next few days tidbit was provided by scout.com for Wisconsin football

Update 12:13am: @RossJonesFOX: Pitt HC Paul Chryst is on way to Madison and is set to meet with UW, sources tell @FOXSports. Chryst appears to be front runner for the job.

Yeah, like I said yesterday there was absolutely no buzz or mention of Goldens name up here on talk radio or local TV. It was pretty much all Chryst and Bevell. Didn't think it would get done this fast but I guess Barry found his man. So much for Chryst being dedicated to bringing an NC to Pitt...LOL!

Any school fall enough down the list of half-*** schools would not pay enough to get Golden to leave. I think he really wants his payoff. His pride probably tells him that he deserves it and has gooten a bad deal here. Anyone with as manay excuses as him, believes them.

Getting bought out HAS to be a second-best outcome for Golden, though. Sure, he would have the money, but finding another job is so much easier, and the job you find so much better, if you haven't just been publicly fired. And Al seems way too hung up on career advancement to just semi-retire and live off the buyout, no matter how huge it might be.

But I agree that there are schools that will not offer enough money (or prestige) for him to take the offer, and it may well be that those are the only schools who would think about extending one.
