I don't know if this has been covered, but since he "retired", is a buyout in place? I understand there could have been negotiations for this "retirement", but listening to James' surprise I doubt it. Thanks...

James easily could have pretended to be surprised. It makes people think he didn't try to strongarm Richt which is exactly what he wants people to think.

He supposedly didn’t retire he QUIT....if that’s true not sure how The U could be liable for anything.

Maybe he did quit and did it that way on purpose to allow Miami to hav the money to use for his replacement and staff.

Now THAT would put him into hero status at the U.Guys been making multiple millions for yeas so I doubt he needs the money.

It's silly to think that Richt walked away with an empty briefcase. Since Miami is a private school and doesn't have to share agreements like this with the public, we'll never know. I don't honestly care, as long as his *** is gone. I'm not of the "Richt did the right thing" camp since as far as I'm concerned, he didn't earn one penny of what he was paid - certainly not this year.
