A family freind just relayed me info he heard earlier. He said that the president is going to allow butch to sit down and talk to him about the job.

I don't want to start bull**** rumors and I'm not trying to be some "insider". Just sharing info as others have.

Don't want to piggyback, however my boy in Virginia (who's a diehard Cane fan as well) said he heard that Butch is quietly a front runner due to fan support and several "uppers" having an affinity with what he did here. Said he tuned in to one of their local sports outlets that's a sister station of ESPN. Again, since I didn't hear it, can't confirm or deny, and he's not on the inside so he can't confirm or deny, but being that Butch's name is now being boldly thrown about by several sports outlet like BR, College Spun, anf ESPN, there's some smoke at least.

You would think they would try to make the fans happy that's the money.

Butch is the hire that unifies the alumni and the fan base the most. I like Herman a lot, but butch can start now and solidifying a very good class and the man has a top notch eye for players and coaches.

I strongly believe Butch has been in contact with some higher ups at UM well before this season started. Well before.

Right now, there's subtle hints - wisps of smoke.

Said this at the end of last season, Butch has been around Miami a lot, that's not a coincidence. The U-2 did nothing put bring more light upon that man and shame Golden even more. Shalala was the strong armed witch that was turning people off from him, but I firmly believe that Butch will be the next coach and a contingency plan will be put in place. It was under Shalala's watch that the program went down. She cared nothing about Athletics, at all. We were screwed from the OB under her watch, screwed B Davis contract under her watch, Nevin Shapiro was under her watch...

Frenk is from Harvard. Harvard wants to be the best in everything, including sports w/in the Ivy League. We may have just found a President that understands the balance between athletics and academics....you can have both (see Duke).

I think Butch gets the gig, w a coach in waiting after 4-5 yrs.

The fence is going to be rebuilt; I believe he'll take over at the end of the season, but he'll get his staff and recruiting board up now so come December, it's off and running. Just an opinion.
