Dude,
UNC only owed him less than $600K, per year ... Short of him taking the FIU job, at $500K, he would not have lost any money taking another head coach position.
Please stop repeating this, as if it is fact.
Or, quoting a great message porster:
It's one thing to be ignorant.
Quite another to remain that way, and repeat crap by rote
Had a winning record in the ACC.
Had his nanny write papers for players, drown a school in sanctions and get blacklisted from ever having a college coaching job?
10+ wins in a season?
Conference titles?
December bowl wins?
January bowl wins?
Has Golden done any of that?
When was the last time Butch did that? 15 years ago? How'd his career go after that?
PROTIP: POORLY
Caneshow, a couple of things you are really misinformed on.
1. You said Butch had his nanny write papers. That's a goddam lie.
2. You said he drowned a school in sanctions. That's a goddam lie. Butch was cleared of any portion of what was going on at UNC.
3. You said he was blacklisted from ever coaching again. A third goddam lie.
4. You suggested he's been out for years, and is irrelevant. A fourth outright lie.
You know, there's these things called contracts - agreements between two parties. When one side fires someone without any justification - they still have to meet the conditions of the contract. Meaning, UNC still had to pay Butch what they owed him. Had he taken another coaching position, that would have been nullified, and Butch was a bit irritated with the way UNC did him since he had no part in the crap that happened.
It's one thing to be ignorant.
Quite another to remain that way, and repeat crap by rote.
Dude, the limitation was a Head Coaching job - Genius - it didn't limit him to any other tasks he may wish to engage in to make more money.
You're not exactly in the financial sector, are you?
