So he basically said he'd love to coach at Miami again without saying he would like to coach at Miami again because we are still playing chicken with this lemon buddy loser.
 
This situation is just beyond ridiculous. He'd probably be willing to take a contract that is backloaded to help the school get out of this mess.
 
Dan asked if he would wanna coach at Miami again. First thing he said was its hard to answer because somebody has the job right now that its not open so he can't answer it. Then went on to explain how much he loved coaching here. Pretty much beat around the bush about it
 
Davis is a master at conveying a message smartly. He's one of those dudes who looks and sounds like a dumb hayseed but is actually a very bright guy. He went on that show for a reason. He knows where the audience is, and he wants people here to know he'd be here in a second if they offered him.

Go whoever plays us in whatever useless late December bowl no one gives two s**** about. It's f***ing appalling that we even have to care about how a 6-6 team in a coach's fourth year performs in a bowl game, but the administration has made it come to this.

when either shannon or coker was obviously going down, butch would do a weekly call-in with hank goldberg on 560

i always suspected then that he was trying to keep his name visible and generate buzz for the UM job when it became open

1 big issue with Butch is his age. He's 63, which in recruiting is a major negative. If you bring him in, gotta expect him to be here atleast 5 years. That puts him almost 70. Sorry but a 70 year old just doesnt have the energy motivation to run a program and recruit with these young guns. While he would be a great leader and coach i just dont think he has it in him at his age. I know Saban is similar age but hes been doing it year in year out and has build such a rep players line up to play for Bama. Doesnt take nearly as much.

And what will UM administration do?

They'll wait a couple more seasons before canning Golden. And then they'll hire another unqualified mope as HC that will lead the program for another 5+ years of mediocrity on top of the 13+ years from Coker/Shannon/Golden.

Lather, rinse, repeat.
 
If we did move on from the current coaching staff i think its imperative the new coach is a Miami guy. Schiano, Chud, Etc. Need to take back S FL.
