Butch Davis is all over ESPN. I never knew Butch had Todd Gurley committed to North Carolina, but Butch was fired after the agent scandal stuff. And Gurley flipped to UGA.... Wow.

Butch was building something huge at UNC. A basketball school taboot.

Give Davis 5-6 years, and he'll build a top 10 team.
 
It's a shame people don't realize how good Butch is, dude had Gurley going to UNc a basketball school. Nuff said
 
Best move the prez can go out on and James make after the season is to bring in Butch. I will throw up if he goes to the turds.
 
Butch has the 3 Necessities to be a top coach!

1. Superior Knowledge of the Game
2. Great Talent Developer
3. Greater Talent evaluator which equates to being a great recruiter too

Every time I see Butch sitting there, I say there is our savior and some silly *** liberal administrators can't see it! If you can get a Bentley for the same price as a Dodge Dart why would you get the Bentley?
 
butch was 15-17 in the ACC at UNC

and florida would hire 100 coaches before they even interviewed him

miami fans hated on butch every chance they got when he was here

I mean people make mistakes but to think in 01 that team was butch's team and all those guys set records and made the nfl u streak. That wasn't miami that was Butch. U think AG can get mcgahee gore jame davenport Portis in the same backfield? No
Do u think he can have Sean Taylor back up Ed reed? No
Butch is a master Jedi at recruiting deal with it even though dudes were calling for his head facts r facts. He would of eventually won.
 
Its about trajectory. By the time Butch left Miami and UNC, both rosters were stocked with NFL talent and both teams were on a clear upward trajectory. Should have played for the title in 2000 and Coker owes Butch his ring from 01.
 
Also people don't realize when Butch left the u recruited itself cuz of him but the talent dipped at miami and unc drastically. Especially at OL and DL
 
Im not gonna i was against butch coming back to the U but i did some research and found out how bad he wants to get back in coaching.. i think butch davis has something to prove and i think hes looking for a place he can retire from i think we need to give him the opportunity to finish what he started at the U..

I hope you know as much about fornicating as you know about Butch - no use crapping the gene pool.

Butch's last year at UNC - the NCAA incident cost Butch some 13 players - many of his starters, and he still won eight games. THEN, he had nine off that team that same year drafted into the NFL.

Before Butch, UNC was a real creampuff. During and right after Butch, they were kicking our ***, and recruiting pools in NC aren't nearly as deep as South Florida.

Speak for yourself.

People were naturally disappointed in the losses in the mid-late 90s, but I never thought most UM fans wanted Butch's head on a spike. And by the end of Butch's tenure, most UM fans realized that the 5-6 record in '97 should've been expected in light of the loss of 30 ships and Erickson's last two horrible recruiting classes.

And for the ones that did, I thought at the time the dorks at Sammy fraternity were clowns for flying the banner.
