Butch delivering fast results?

Butch was my number one choice but as i said then n now we would always lose 4-5 game maybe even 6. The roster isnt as good as people make it out to be

Just like that 14(if memory serves me right) that had 6-7 NFL players littered across it and still couldnt win the division?

The talent is there we just seem to never have competent coaches on both ends of the field to put them in positions to succeed.

yeah but the caliber of NFL player is different. butch was putting perennial pro bowlers in the league.

Then watch Kayaa. I've never seen a QB who is so unwilling to move around the pocket. It's truly amazing.

and i hate to say it but he is slow mentally. he doesnt process anything fast. he is all slow motion. its basically deep throws or screens.

Butch & Richt are similar in that their value comes from their recruiting, not their coaching.

Omg wtf is it with people that go to the nfl it means ur loaded with talent. Are those guys good or are they no longer in the league? R they pro bowlers are they top ten at there positions? Butch was putting guys jn the league that were top five.....when edge went to tge league dude lead the league in rushing year one

His thing is fear to me......u give him a pocket he can get u but once hes rattled he cant come back hes mentally done. Eli be doing this **** happy *** feet and mechanics go out the window

Like i said edge came into the league and dominated.....u could give duke J 300 carries in the nfl rt now and im 100% sure he wont lead the league in rushing. Julion jones is like andre johnson....we were puttin superb fkin monsters in the league not mid rounders or guys that wont ever make a pro bowl. the way kaaya has been holdign the ball, overthrowing receivers, etc saban prob would be playing rosier some.

Kayaa isn't used to throwing WRs open, or finding 1v1 coverage letting your WR make a play on the ball.

Kayaa is a one read, first read QB. If Richt would simply run ONE WR across the middle of the field when running his 4 verts play, then kayaa would be more comfortable knowing he has 1v1 underneath the deep routes.

Also more hitch/dig routes need to be incorporated. They were available against VT's blitzing man coverage.

kaaya cant make decisions fast. im starting to believe he was overhyped by the previous staff. Cali kid yet Arizona, arizona st, usc, ucla, cal, etc none of them were on him early and none fought hard for him.

I understand the frustration with the 3 game losing streak although I believe it's overblown. But why are some people arguing Butch would have delivered faster results and a more overnight turnaround than Richt?

Butch started 1-3 his first year, and that was before any sanctions. Erickson was a less than spectacular recruiter but he was better than Golden. Even through 5 years Butch was 40-19. The sanctions hurt things, but it's really hard to be that impressed with anything Butch did through year 5. Kiffin was facing similar sanctions at USCw and also won about 2/3 of his games, but he was fired after 3.3 years.

Richt was 8-4 his 1st year at UGA and then 44-9 over the next 4. Granted the drop off of his career began somewhat in year 6 (2006) and especially starting year 9 (2009.)

The people touting Butch as the answer seem to know more than any one person in the world that's actually in charge of hiring that position. Go figure... Who would have thought that all the worlds best ADs are right here on this board? Talk about getting hit by lightning while being eaten by a great white right after you win the lottery. Might be the most amazing coincidence in the history of the world if you think about it.

Because Butch was widely known for his gameday prowess. Oh wait.

He did have a real prowess for the Chinese Fire Drill on the sidelines, IIRC.

I was, and rapidly returning to, BBB. But Butch was the better long term solution because of his recruiting. Mark should have been much better in the short term because you would expect better coaching out of him. What I did not expect was the really bad staff Mark hired. If Kool had not been fired, we would not a one coach worthy of being here. I failed to appreciate Butch's skill at staffing. It might have been better than his recruiting. Okay that might be a bit much but how many NFL HC's has Saban turned out?

Mark was perfect choice for BOT and administration but he will never satisfy the fan base. He doesn't have that dog in him that Howard, JJ and Butch did. He is from St. Bobby's coaching tree. I don't remember any of them being successful HCs. I might be wrong but Marks is probably the most successful of them.

Long term? Isn't Butch already pushing mid 60s??? I mean he's already up there and I do not think he would be here long term.

I was part of the BBB crew but Richt will be here longer and better long term IMO.

Long term in that after 4 years, the team would be full on number one picks again. If Coker could win with Butch's kids, even Butch could. If Richt doesn't something quick, he will not be here long.
