Read it again, I never said you shouldn't be friends with anyone. What I said is that you seem to put loyalty to the people you know over loyalty to the program...which is entirely your right, but you'll pardon me and others if we don't agree. See, we're here to be fans of a team, not stick up for our friends. But you do your thing.

And I'm 4 bajillion times the Cane you are and have been for 53 years, believe that.

Let me ask you - why is he coaching at FIU and not some other school that has a shot at winning something of relevance?

Many here would have you believe if the AD would have hired the guy, who threw us to the side and then had major NCAA issues, we would be so much better off. The problem is there is no evidence to support this homer claim within the last 15 years. Of course he wanted the job. He couldn't find a better job anywhere else. You think he really deserved it? Do you really think we should have chanced it on a guy who helped orchestrate a vacation of 16 wins while he coached UNC? He is a road apple at this point. He is worse than a Les Miles or Mack Brown. He can't beat Kiffin who has made him his daddy. So just stop praising this guy.

The problem is we haven't had better since he left. It is sad but it is less of a reflection of Butch and more of a reflection of our ineptitude. Last I checked you don't see LSU clamoring about bringing back Nick Saban. A coach who is 10x better than your boy - the Almighty Butch Davis.

Praise is fine. Blind ignorance is another. The line is always broken here. The past is the past. We understand where we came from. The problem is you have to evolve. Live in the past and your are no better than the Blake James or any other idiot that has run our AD into the ground.

Now let's kick the **** out of this team on a baseball field.

It took some years for Butch to recruit and get legit players. It wasn't year 1 like a majority of these phans think it should be for Manny

Fightin' a losing battle with the Booch worshippers. Look, I respect what he did in his stint at the U, but that ship sailed for me 19 years ago when he bolted for the worst organization in the NFL.

IDGAF who the HC is at FIU. I expect us to dominate them and pay homage to that sacred ground where the OB used to stand.

Of course, also swears Butch was the greatest position coach in Miami history. So, while we're at the altar, why not greatest recruiter, talent evaluator, talent developer, closest Jimmy disciple . . . who, with his agents calls, chased more jobs than any coach in Canes history.

I'm sure Butch has had this game on his mind all season long.

FIU is completely outmanned in this match.....we should win handily.....this is not a fair comparison of coaching ability...but it will tell something

We have no excuse not to be sharp after this bye week.....And we'll see if Butch gets his outmatched team to play above their heads and beat the spread
 
While FIU is obviously outmanned, I don't think it'll be a blowout. This team has sucked coming out of bye weeks for years, and until it stops sucking I'm not going to expect great things. Meanwhile, Booch's boys will be hyped up to play Miami.

Kiffin’s current job is at FAU. He doesn’t have any more high profile of a job than Butch does. And I haven’t heard of any Power 5 teams even considering Kiffin as HC.

If you think Kiffin’s gotten a second chance, then so has Butch. (I’d say that neither has gotten a second chance.)
