So are Jimmy and Dennis sacks of **** then because they chased the money in the NFL? Get that weak argument out of here. All coaches try to make the NFL jump at some point except for guys like Bear Bryant, Joe Paterno, and Bobby Bowden. At least Butch didn't try to jump ship to another college like Golden did.

And he, "left," us with Coker? Was Butch the AD also and forced the school to hire him? How about you hold Paul Dee responsible for making the bad hire. And I hate to break it to you, but all the players were clamoring for Coker and though it was terrific hire up until 2005.

And once again, your calling him a sack of **** shows what a sack of **** you are. You do realize that if it wasn't for him we would be mentioned with Minnesota and SMU as teams that were dominant a forever ago. He saved the program. Saved it. And your reason for harboring resentment for him is that he left to take a bigger job, which Jimmy, Dennis, and even Howard to a certain degree had already done, and that he left us the most talented roster in college football history and the admin made a terrible hire in Coker to blow the machine that Butch had gotten humming perfectly? Go sit in a corner.

Butch lied. No argument here. But he did what his predecessors had done and left a wealth of talent that Dee and Coker obliterated. Learn some respect for the man.

Didn't know desiring a coach made you an idiot or was a sign some neutrons not firing. It was a comment that he wasn't the first to make. We all know and should stop BS ourselves that college athletes sign football scholarship thinking, "I'm signing this scholarship because I wanna do big academic things". Stop the BS PLEASE! Its football first, training second and then academics. No why public officials, say coaches, always make those generic BS sportsmanship statements? Because when they tell you the truth you wanna make like your fantasy is the reality. Reality is education is the by product of the new era Big Money College Football world. What Butch said doesn't change the fact that MF'er can coach and recruit some football.

Such a simple mind, and I know some can't help the way they were born.

So NOW Butch left us with Coker. You really don't know what a football coach actually is responsible, do you? To date, at UNC you suggest Butch had the responsibility over courses greater than the faculty and administration, and now you suggest Butch had the responsibility of hiring and firing HC's.

Butch would have stayed, but UM shut that contract down. Everything was negotiated over months, and everything was agreed on except the buyout. Finally, Butch figured out they weren't going to budges, and left. Not for another University - but the NFL.

Butch didn't ***** Miami. Miami screwed Miami. Just like at this very moment - Golden has a fat contract extension in place - and that was given BEFORE he'd proven he wasn't up to the job.

Same, exact stupid moves by the UM Adminstration. Great moves, like the Orange Bowl. Like running off Jimmy Johnson. Nothing changed. UM's Administration continues to make some of the dumbest siht they could possibly make.

Give a monkey a quarter, and let him flip it heads or tails. Statistically, he'll make 50% good decisions and 50% bad decisions. NOT UM - they've made terrible decisions all the way back to ****ing off JJ, running HIM off - then running Butch off through a stupid one-sided buyout - hiring Clappy - hiring Radar - hiring Golden - and THEN giving him an unnecessary extension.

Maybe Dee should have started contract negotiations a bit sooner. You think? You hold tight on the buyout at the last minute to make it almost one-sided for UM, and Butch wants it 50/50 - and anyone is surprised he leaves when others are waving good cash money in his face?

Dee screwed up. UM screwed up.

Oh. And to THIS DAY, that bad judgement is STILL costing us. We haven't been worth a **** since Butch left. We've been a joke since Butch's players graduated.

To this day.
 
So butch making the statments im not interested in another job and im with miami... Than 10 days later he leaves for the nfl at the worst time for the program so we have to rush a hire ... No problem right butch can do no wrong

The contract negotiations had dragged on for a more than a couple months.

Butch thought they had a deal. UM thought they had him by the short hairs.

UM was wrong.

I will most certainly compare Jimmy to Butch. Butch left at the end of January having saying he would be back. Jimmy leaves in the beginning of January after being quite on potentially leaving. Leaving is leaving whether is be outright lies or lies of omission. He easily belongs in the same conversation as Jimmy. Jimmy built off of what Howard did and made Miami special. Butch saved then entire program from death. What are you missing about that?

And speaking of Howard, he left the system that he created from scratch for a pro job that never even materialized while saying he loved Miami and he also left in January. Give me a break.

Dennis left us a simmering bomb of NCAA issues and left as fast as he could for the Seahawks job. Once again, give me a break.

I'm not buying that Dee had only a little time to find a replacement. Potential coaches would have been banging down the door to get the job. He could have picked anybody but Coker and it would have been a good hire.

Butch and Jimmy are in the exact same conversation. One took us from being a one hit wonder to being The U. The other assembled the greatest teams of all time. He finally found his franchise QB in Dorsey and had he not left we would have at least 4 more championships in addition to the 2001 ring.
