Yeah, they're doing so well right now.

When Arkansas was looking for a coach before, Butch was the target, and UNC upped his contract. Fact.

And Butch was an Arkansas grad. Fact.

He may have gameday coaching issues, but Butch is the best talent evlauator I've seen at the collegiate level.

Exactly what I was going to write. Most people on these boards were telling me Petrino was toxic and stuck at WKU. Now, the geniuses are claiming no one ever said that. Fcking disingenuous twaats.

I'm being honest.

I remember saying guys like Leach and Leavitt from USF were toxic. I never said, and I don't recall a whole lot of others saying, that Petrino was toxic. His issues weren't the type to get him blackballed from coaching at a decent school, and when he got the job at WKU, pretty much everyone knew that it was just a step to rehabilitating his image and that he'd be back in a power 5 school before long.
 
So back to Arkansas, timing and Butch.

Was Butch available at the time they hired Bielema?

Yeah, they totally just up and vacated two entire football seasons for ***** and giggles right? Butch clearly knew nothing about the paper classes they were running for nearly 30 years. He wasn't telling student athletes to go to Harvard if they wanted to be students, never ever ever.

Butch didn't run the University. He ran the football program. Not the basketball program. Not the academic counseling. Not the Administration. Not the course core requirements.

He was just the football coach.

I once got screwed by an auto dealership for some $800 in repairs that were not done. I was ****ed. I made certain that they never enjoyed that $800, and in fact, it cost them upwards of $3000 - just because they ****ed me off.

Another outfit screwed me out of $1500, so we went around and around, and I casually mentioned a document in my possession that would ruin them. They got a high dollar legal team, petitioned the judge to force me to hand it over since it didn't exactly pertain to our disagreement - and after drawing it out, I handed it over. But ****, I had another document sent to me by an unidentified person, and we went through that sequence some dozen times.

Bottom line - their attorney told me I'd cost them $138,000. I made damned certain I cost them.

Now, Butch was done dirty, and I'm not saying he's ****ed, but if he's anything like me, he wants UNC to pay every damned dime of what they owe him. The only gig that would enable UNC to get off would be a head coaching job - so he's avoided that. He's making good side money as an analyst, and it gives him an opportunity to look things over.

I would never EVER take any financial advice from you, as you don't seem to understand the first thing about sure money. Sure money and SIDE money - and time off to do WTF you want to do during the period.

Some here would throw away some really good money - just to get another gig that may pay more - but doesn't punish those who screwed him - and allows him to fish, travel, and enjoy some time off. Those folks who would do that are commonly known as dumbasses.

Let's see. I take (assume) $600K a year to sit on my ***, or I can make $2M-$3M putting in 60-80 hour weeks. Gee. Considering my house is probably already paid for as well as everything else I own, I think picking up $600K is really not that bad of a deal. Besides, when Butch decides to go back to work as a head coach - Butch will go back to work as a head coach.

Because he's really, really good. And he's NCAA clean.

Butch will likely take over UM next season, bringing Sandusky over as DC and Dennis Erickson as the OC.
