"Butch can't carry Saban's jockstrap"?

Now compare them after that period.

Butch made the grand mistake of fleeing to the NFL. Otherwise, he probably would have at least THREE national championship rings. Maybe more if continued coaching the Canes until 2010 and beyond. dUh.
I hated the Coker hire from day 1, but with Butch walking the sidelines he probably would have found a way to muck up that 2001 squad too.

C'mon now. He's not even Miami's GOAT coach but yall wanna compare him to one of the GOAT college football coaches of all-time.

Like him or not, Saban is a god **** beast. Look at his coaching tree for christ sake.

look at his cheating tree

both bama and lsu do seriously shady **** and no one says a cot **** word

sabag got his **** pushed in at the nfl level where it's an even playing field

silly as it may sound, give me butch all day. That mans eye for talent and ability to assemble a staff are simply unreal. He's already proven what he can do once the sanctions are lifted. I would gladly take a risk to see it again

Umm...

Butch got his **** pushed in by the NFL too, bud.

I've seen plenty of orange-and-green delusion on here over the years but this is near the top.

You're talking about a guy who's 216-62 as a college head coach. LOL (125-20 at Alabama)

As far him buying players...
He took Bama from 6-6 to 12-2 in one year. Then 14-0 in only his 3rd season. So his impact at Bama was immediate and far too soon for his "bought players" to even make an impact.
He's only lost more than 2 games ONCE during his tenure at Bama. (a 10-3 season with a bowl win)
The guy has FIVE national championships on his resume. LOL

And Butch isn't even in Saban's stratosphere when it comes to X's and O's. He's been a defensive guru since his days with the Browns. He's invented concepts that still are forward-thinking til this day. (rip/liz match, pattern matching coverage)

Butch was bad at UNC despite being loaded with NFL talent. (he is an ace recruiter/evaulator) He also got them in trouble. And Butch was even worse in the NFL than Saban was.

I can't believe this is even a discussion. It's one thing to be a fan, it's another thing to be blindly naive.

Mere SPECULATION on your part! :um1lw: dUh. Because NOBODY would've known if Miami had won multiple NC's with Davis pacing the sidelines! Absolutely nobody! hUh.

The irony. I was responding to your retarded post that was 100% speculative.

Butch was severely handcuffed yet Saban wasn't. Also Butch took the browns to the only playoff appearance they've had this millennium, I can't even recall when they went prior. Saban was a disaster in the NFL

2 years later and OP is still a delusional dumb ***.

Taking over in East Lansing with a program that was nothing prior.

vs

Taking over in Miami with a program that had played for 3 NC in the 4 previous years located in the richest talent area. The team just played Nebraska for the NC the year prior. Had plenty of NFL talent and a brand.

These #BoRtchDavidians act like BoRtch has done something the last 18 years.

LOL...took Ron Turner 3 years to win 8 games, Butch did it in one.

Go suck off Nick Saban and Alabaga somewhere else.

Let me guess... you took a coaching clinic with Nick Saban and he spat out some BS about "pattern matching" and now you think he's some kind of guru lol.

Butch's NFL career takes a giant steaming dump all over Nick Saban's pathetic pro career. Butch Davis won a Super Bowl with the Dallas Cowboys as the DC under Jimmy Johnson. The '93 Cowboys were one of the greatest teams in NFL history.

Butch took over a Miami team in shambles and under sanctions, and he built the greatest college football team of all time.

Yes, Saban BUYS players. It's kind of hard to lose more than three games when you're landing the #1 class five years in a row.

Nick Saban is basically Larry Coker.

Only a true Cane homer could ever think that Butch is on Saban's level.

C'mon now. He's not even Miami's GOAT coach but yall wanna compare him to one of the GOAT college football coaches of all-time.

Like him or not, Saban is a god **** beast. Look at his coaching tree for christ sake.

Saban takes a bought and paid for 5* and just plugs him in to the next guy's spot. Butch took unranked kids or kids in totally different positions and made them beasts. I would take Butch 2000 over any Saban year. His coaching tree would be pretty **** impressive as well with more time.

Butch Davis coaching tree:

Chuck Pagano - Indianapolis Colts, head coach
Greg Schiano - Tampa Bay Bucs, head coach
Rob Chudzinski - Cleveland Browns, head coach

Mario Cristobal - Oregon Ducks, head coach
Curtis Johnson - Tuland, head coach
Randy Shannon - Miami Hurricanes, head coach
Larry Coker - Miami Hurricanes, head coach

And that's off the top of my head. Dude's coaching tree produced 3 NFL head coaches and 4 NCAA head coaches, just off the top of my head. That ***** all over Nick Sabag's coaching tree.

Who coached under Saban, Will Muschamp? lol.

Wow, what an impressive coaching tree. All that talent and botch only managed one good season at UM.

I like Richt better than Butch, but I like Butch better than Saban.

Saban and Urban Meyer are good at one thing AND ONE THING ONLY - finding a situation where ANYONE could step in and win, and then stepping in to that situation. They're both also really good at cutting and running when the situation no longer favors them.

See Urban bailing on UF, and Saban bailing on the Dolphins.

ANYONE could win at Alabama right now, just like ANYONE (larry coker) could have won at UM in 2001. They literally buy the best talent in America year in and year out. SABAN IS COKER.

Put Nick Sabags on an average team, and you'd get average results. Oh wait, that already happened. Here's his coaching record at Michigan State.

1995 Michigan State 6–6–1
1996 Michigan State 6–7
1997 Michigan State 7–6
1998 Michigan State 6–6 (no bowl)
1999 Michigan State 9–2
