so it is completely unfair to compare Saban to Butch or Saban to any other current coach including meyer he is head and shoulders above everyone

Playing Florida and Miami every year counts for nothing? Playing in major bowl games every year he wouldn't have played top ranked teams? He averaged playing four teams ranked 18 and better every year during his career. I can't penalize him because he played cupcakes like Duke and Wake Forest unless I penalize us too for playing Temple and Rutgers.

Conference SOS really didn't matter for most of his career. It was all a popularity contest. Sure the ACC was weak, but he always played big games OOC, including UF, Miami, ND.

I don't care much for the Noles, but at least they didn't hide from big games.

LOL! Was MSU a recent recipient of 4 National Titles? It's funny how the Butch fans glom over this little fact when acting like Butch is some magician. Notice that he didn't assemble a record breaking set of 1st rounders while coaching the Tarheels. The school you coach at does matter.

Fast forward to today. Tenn, UF, FSU, Oregon, Miss. St & Tex A&M all had an opportunity to hire Butch Davis. What happened? The deep pockets of FIU outbid him? Did he get a raise, I don't know about to retain him?
