Bulldog Tears

What the **** did I just read? Those people are nuts , I can't believe that's serious talk.

" Richt grew a beard, recruits black qbs and allows the turnover chain".....they're acting like that's evil or he's lost his Christianity. Wtf?!??

Ignorant as s rednecks, I can't even comprehend that or understand how one even comes to a conclusion like that.

I'm seriously shaking my head at this , my mind is blown.

Yeah, I really try not to judge racism based solely on geographic location, but when I read comments like a lot of those in that thread.... shame.

The booster issue is why C Kelly is not going to UF, for any amount of money. It's also why Richt was increasingly miserable at UGA. UF was an even more irrelevant program than Vanderbilt until Meyer got there, and suddenly the big donors came out of the woodwork. They gave Meyer everything he wanted in terms of money, facilities, shielding players from prosecution, etc. But as the old saying goes, "There is no such thing as a free lunch." In exchange for giving Meyer what he asked for to build a winner, the donors expected to be schmoozed and have access to coaches and players. Every rich guy wants to be able to show off how important he is. Now that UF has had a taste of success, the donors are not going to take a step back. That's why any one who knows football knows that the next HC at UF has to be a coach /politician. No big name elite head coach will want to deal with that, and the elite coaches will always have options (honestly, if I was going to coach in the SEC, I'd coach at Arkansas where I'd have to kiss precisely one ***, that of Jerry Jones a la Phil Knight at Oregon instead of dozens of different entitled owners like at UF).

At UGA, when it looked like Richt's play calling was dropping off, the big time donors demanded he give up play calling or the donors would stop the funds. So the AD had to give him the ultimatum.

Miami's secret sauce is that we have never relied on big time donors (our head coach is putting up his own money for the IPF!) No matter how much success Richt has, he will never have donors breathing down his neck making demands. He and his assistants are being well compensated, play in one of the best stadiums in football, and have direct access to the greatest pool of talent in the country. Oh, and the ncaa is going to have to rescind that one mile radius rule for recruiting visits, as that is basically a cheat code for us.

The irony is that Richt's personality is actually well suited to a job like UF, where he could handle the donor pressure and have even better access to S FL talent. But we got him and he is going to build a juggernaut.

Gentlemen, this is year 2. We have played the entire year with what is essentially our backup qb, our backup rb, and without our best WR- and we have a very very very good chance of finishing the regular season as the #1 team in the country.

I guess you forgot the Spurrier years and the NC he won there.
Don't get me wrong I hate UF, but to claim they were irrelevant before Urban is just not true

Bruh, UF football has existed since 1906. In that entire time, they didn't win a national championship until 1996. This vaunted amazing program that thinks it deserves to be called "elite" literally went 100 years without winning a national title. Then they finally won after Miami got hit with huge sanctions. Vanderbilt at least had titles during the leather helmet era in 1921 and 1922. UF had one good year in a century before it lucked into Urban Meyer, who was the perfect scumbag fit for a scumbag university (as I mentioned in Gator tears, the real reason that he had "heart problems" and had to leave UF was that he was stepping out on his wife with co-eds and headed for an incredibly expensive divorce). So I maintain that winning one title in 100 years makes you an irrelevant football program.

Absolute fail thread right here.

Auburn looking like they will win, but have zero RBs. UGA punching their ticket in year two.

Don't forget that we won a NC BEFORE they even won a SEC title.

I'm not stating that UF is elite, but to say they were totally irrelevant before Urban Meyer is just a false narrative.Under Spurrier they won 6 sec titles, won 10 games in 8 seasons and are the just the 6th team to ever win 100 games in a decade.
Like I said I hate UF and I hate Spurrier, but I'm not blind to facts.
The fact that they are in a complete downward free fall could not be anymore satisfying

One of the biggest fail and jinx threads of all time right here.

407 should be banned. Called him out then that yapping about UGA’s “failure” and our “success” was a premature jinx.

I can't believe this thread is real. They've won back to back Nattys. We were crowning Richt in here. ***** wild.
