To the conversation about the WR room and attrition..Ive been saying this since the beginning of the season. That room is becoming way too crowded with QUALITY depth. Very few scrubs if any at all.. You cant ask these kids to sit around until their 3rd year before they get real burn. Thats just not how it works anymore. I expect 2-3 kids to hit the portal especially if we get Wright and he reclassfies.

And before the, "Why cant they just compete bro!? They are soft!" crowd comes out.. In 2021, a sophomore WR at OSU named Jameson Williams was in a super crowded WR room full of 1st round WRs and he was the 5th guy...he transferred to Bama in 2022 and played one season and became a 1st round pick. Alot of times its not about talent..its a numbers game and opportunity. Welcome to the era of the transfer portal and 100 scholarship guys on the team.

We will see how it plays out. There is a chance we might not need a heavy portal class because we have an opportunity to retain many players. There is a lot of football left, so we will see how it plays out. No better way to improve your draft stock than balling out against ND

The staff isn't afraid to spend money

Personally, yes I do. I understand people's points. But the logic doesn't work. It's simple. Luke is pretty **** good. Abrams is pretty **** good & Coleman has just as much upside(bad choice of words) as any of them. I think Luke is the furthest along at this moment. I think he could play now and we'd be okay with a dialed back offense that leaned on the run a lil more. Quicker developing routes just like teams prioritize against us. BUT if it's not any of them, than who do we go after who's already established enough and is head and shoulders a better option than them? Cause some of the names I've seen brought up aren't at a place in their development either that makes you say that's definitely the guy. Maybe a couple you like the upside more. But that's not how that argument works...

According to y'all's standards now(because of course it makes sense for y'all to be so entitled now after half this fan base was calling for this man's job two years ago) who can it possibly be that would come in with all the hype you'd justify? Arch, dante moore,sayin or carr? If I see a single clown mention cj bailey like he's a better option than nickel would be I'm just gonna start blocking people finally. **** no to Bailey he was garbage for me since HS. Idk who will be in the portal but I can call Mrs Cleo and ask her. But I do IMO think we will go to the portal.

This is the logic that makes me scratch my head. So you think nickel who has been in the program for two years already isn't going to be good enough because we have Malachi to go along with everyone else and that justified whatever expense necessary cause you can't put the ball in an unproven QBs hands with this kind of roster. BUT two years from now abrams being in the same exact position with one less year of development we'll be able to justify putting the ball in his hands because I guess Malachi alone makes that level of difference... Guess what guys. From a financial commitment and the talent in house already at that point **** won't be any different. Malachi is great. But he doesn't define our program moving forward beyond the next year...

I did think Luke was the guy in HS until I saw him play cfb. Then my perspective changed cause I saw proof so my opinion changed. Abram’s is that guy now that we hype up but don’t know **** until practice reports and cfb game film. The Cypher kid as well, they are that dude in HS but this a whole different animal. We won’t know anything till the time comes and won’t know who are the good to great qbs until that college season is played. Everything is just guessing at this point.

Are you staying up? Moreover, Their last two games began at noon eastern time. Their nighttime game against Wake; JKS split reps with the backup.

JKS is talented however he has had a dreadful year; showing a lack of growth from where he was last year.. A lot of blame went towards the OC yet even with the new OC, he couldn’t get in FG range once despite Cal continually going for it on fourth down; which led to 42-0 2nd half by SMU after trailing 17-20 at halftime. His first five drives against NC State were 4 three & outs and a turnover on downs.

He has been a terrible 2nd half quarterback: the 45-24 loss against UCLA was within reach at halftime: 24 to 17. Already mentioned SMU.

Discounting the FCS game: He has only scored two touchdowns in the second half all season; and one was after a Syracuse interception that gave Cal the ball at the 29. The WF one was when the score was 41-0. He has led three second half touchdown drives in total (UCLA, SYR, WF); and only one second-half drive that led to a field-goal (CLEM). When he left the UNLV game, Cal was losing 7 to 24. The game ended 31 to 39.

I don't have to stay up, I live 5 minutes from the campus and am on west coast time. My point was actually that if people have been watching Cal games, there is no way they would want him here. And if they knew what was going on behind the scenes, they would feel that way even more.
 
Depends if Dawson returns honestly.

Seems pretty clear the people enamored by Size+Arm Strength (Kamari’s Taylor) are not the type we’d actually go after.

Dawson seems mostly accuracy focused.

Simmons, JKS, Malik Washington, Kevin Jennings, Arch…. Maybe still Demond Williams,

but the issue with that isn’t even that they want to leave to start, it’s that we don’t rotate and get guys on the field, and pretty sure same was true of Jamo. Saw an interview and Olave was saying the staff just didn’t **** with Jamo. Like for instance we only had 3 WRs get reps against UNC. Like telling me we have so much quality depth but Upshaw can’t ever be subbed out for Wingo/Jacobs/etc? That’s the real issue. Like Spafford, he just is a lil ****ed cause He’s slot so Toney ain’t leaving field. But he’s already ahead of where I thought he’d even be anyways. The others though….at least Wingo is on ST.
