2028 Brysen Wright WR Mandarin

People keep sleeping on the kid and it's wild. Because if he simply gets opportunities here I think he's one of the more talented kids potentially that we got in the room as of now. Doubt he'll get the chance to develop here though. Just to many monsters coming in each class now. Hysterical considering just a few years ago the constant narrative was Mario can't land wide recievers or QBs.... 🙈🙉🙊🤯
Move him or safety he’s a freak

Move him or safety he’s a freak
It's actually been something we've considered however you don't take a kid who's that much of a freak and put him at safety in today's college football. Old days it would absolutely be worth a look. Now, nah. Just spread the field and adapt your route tree for him to his strengths. I don't know what his speed looks like. But the only viable concern I can see with him is if he's peaked physically considering how big he already is or does he become a playmaking tight end who keeps growing. I've never paid attention to him beyond these last few months so I don't know what that looks like with him

Brysen and Mandarin High finishes the regular season 9-1, only loss coming against undefeated Raines.

This season he totaled:

46 receptions, 984 yds, 11 Rec TD.
2 carries, 92 Yds, 1 Rush TD (80yd).
2 INT
2 Forced Fumbles, 2 Fumble Recoveries, 1 TD
21 ypc? Yea that’s a star

Reclassifying?
I know we want him to reclass for recruiting purposes. Better to have him committed for a few months as opposed to 14 months.

But from the standpoint of our roster, I would prefer Wright does not reclass. We have some really good WR’s who should get more playing time next season in Wingo, Parris and Spafford. We are adding Woodward, Lennear and arguably Sears to that group. Having another season before adding Wright is in the long term interest of the WR room.

The Hurricanes have been trending heavy on the Rivals Prediction Machine for the 6-foot-3 1/2, 210-pound Wright since his return visit for the win over Florida State.

Wright ranks as the Rivals Industry’s No. 1 receiver and No. 3 prospect overall, but he is also a reclassification candidate. Miami currently has Rivals No. 3 class in the 2027 cycle and they’ll also be a program to watch for the No. 1 haul in 2028.

From playing in the national title game a season ago, to the offense and the way Malachi Toney has quickly become a Heisman candidate, Wright sees a program he can flourish in. Obviously on the modern recruiting front, the Hurricanes have great opportunities for their athletes off the field. Beyond that, no program has recruiting Wright harder.

“They are at the top for sure,” Wright recently told Cane Sport’s EJ Holland. “I would say because of the relationships I have. They make it feel like family and make it feel like home.”

“Miami is kind of killing it right now,” Wright’s father Colby said before the season. “They made it to the National Championship game last year. They’re in a good position to do it this year. The 2027 class they have is another talented group they’ve brought in and they do a good job with the consistent communication with athletes. And they have a couple quarterbacks committed, so you know that quarterback won’t be an issue for those guys.”

Florida and Texas have also given Wright a lot to think about at various points in his process so we’ll see if they can pull it out this week, but the intel favors Miami.

Thus far as a junior Wright has turned 46 receptions into 984 yards and 11 touchdowns in 10 games. Rivals compares Wright’s game to Mike Evans.

“The most imposing wide receiver prospect early on in the 2028 cycle,” Rivals Director of Scouting Charles Power wrote in his evaluation. Has a readymade build that would not look out of place on a college football field as a fifteen-year-old. Measures in at 6-foot-3.5, 210 pounds and tests well in the combine setting. Was the most dominant pass-catcher we saw on the 7-on-7 circuit entering his sophomore season, consistently turning in outstanding performances against upperclass competition.

“Shows early signs of possessing transcendent ball skills, with the ability to make incredible in-air adjustments, contorting his body to come down with difficult grabs. Possesses extremely strong hands and consistently dunks on defenders in jump ball situations. Looked to take a positive step with his speed and route-running, showing the ability to earn separation. Had a good sophomore season, catching 46 passes for 983 yards and 10 touchdowns while coming down with five interceptions as a safety. Will need to continue developing his overall skill set and ability to separate as a route-runner.”

Would you take a Dante Moore? 247 listed us as the perfect transfer option if he were to go and listed Mali and our qb transfer success as reason. Never even assumed it was an option but the more I think about it, the more it seems like a perfect fit with Oregon being such a mess and his draft profile taking a hit
I like (Pause) the lefty from Missouri. Kid's got an arm and a great release. (Pause)

i'll go on record now, if wright commits to us and reclasses we're getting a portal qb ... can't take the chance of having mali, wright, and no cut with ... luke ... no disrespect, but you gotta maximize that window
Mensah has another year of eligibility. Hopefully he does not like the NFL teams he is projected to go to and stays at UM for 2027 and another year with Toney.
