2028 Brysen Wright WR Mandarin

I mean if Mensah returns our chances of a ring are about 95% 😂 That 5% is from an injury and even then Nickel wins us #6 (#7). Make him an offer he can't refuse.

I get that, but Simpson didn't appear to have some gun either. And he didn't have the experience either. And yet he went mid round 1.
Mestamaker clearly has a better arm than Simpson. But he’s only got a bit more experience starting than Simpson.
Seems like Simpson had a wink-wink from the Rams GM because of the GM's relationship with Simpson's dad. Most everyone was surprised he went that early.

And I think Mensah is definitely QB1 or 2 in the draft, so a first-rounder. He doesn't have a rocket, but I think it's good enough for most throws in the NFL.

Gotcha. That makes sense. I just can’t see where Simpson would go ahead of Mensah all things considered equal if they were in same draft. But if Simpson got special favors called in, then maybe Mensah may/may not be a first round lock.

I think most qbs are over drafted anyway.

Most mocks I see have him going top ten to eith
er

its basically the last question, you just don’t know what you’re getting with him as a full time starter, especially knowing Mali is in his final year.
You could argue that would be the reason to start an inexperienced in house QB like Nickel. You would be breaking him as a starter with a built in cheat code safety net that is always open. That is before you factor in the development of the other WRs. That way you can spend that portal money on the OL to make it a wall of protection for the kid.

Guysm...

Mensah's not coming back next year.
Would you take a Dante Moore? 247 listed us as the perfect transfer option if he were to go and listed Mali and our qb transfer success as reason. Never even assumed it was an option but the more I think about it, the more it seems like a perfect fit with Oregon being such a mess and his draft profile taking a hit

I mean, it's not the worst idea in the world- his price won't be as high as it could have been, I suppose. I'm not super opposed to it but let's see what the market looks like in ~2 months.

Me? No thanks.

His tape against OK ST this year, his games against Northwestern, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa & TTech last year, were all bad by my view.

His performances in big games is a red flag to me. I don’t see championship pedigree with him.

He's an erratic thrower under pressure & I question his mental resolve to overcome adversity. I think he's soft tbh.

I also don't think he's coming back after this season anyway, but even if he did, I'm not a fan, don't think he would fit here.

Thats fair, its just a risk. the difference between Arch/Sayin level play & Mensah/Mendoza/Chambliss level play could cost you a Championship. We've kinda already seen it first hand..Appreciate what Beck brought to the U and his performance was admirable but if we had any one of the latter we celebrate #6 last year..If a guy like Austin Simmons comes calling no way you tell him nahh we're good with Nickel if your'e serious about winning a championship..

I would pack Luke’s bags myself bruh, people still think this is the old operation. We on a different level a different path, this is a tier one operation and it needs a tier one QB.

Those people would be the first to complain if we did bad under Luke and blame the staff. The staffs jobs is to improve the roster, you slack one year and it’s over. Look at Clemson messing up with qbs since Lawrence left. Trying to “develop”

I don't understand this sentiment at all. Y'all really think Luke ******* Nickel, who has never started a college game, and has played a total of 65 snaps. You think he's good enough to start because he's played 65 snaps against 3rd stringers after the games are over?

Yall want to entrust what is shaping up to be the most talented hurricane teams in decades and arguable the best WR unit the U has ever had to this guy ?

I'm not calling you out, I just want to know what you see and hear to make you feel even remotely confident in 65 snaps, majority against non FBS teams.
Do you think you or any other fan who doesn't have constant access to the team knows more than Mario and staff on what we should do? I'm gonna go with nope & just let Mario decide how we proceed there. Love all this wright news.

I feel like his body is what eventually will hold him back, there is only so much weight you can add to that type of frame. I understand them taking a chance cause of the arm but I dont see him doing anything cause of his size. Big pause

But thats JMo could be wrong but the elite sustainable dominant teams throughout eras always value size, its important. Big pause
As long as SJ is on the line, he will be fine seeing over him

A strong arm isn't necessarily the end all be all. Drew Brees is a hall of famer, and no one would say he has a strong arm. On the flip side, Dante Culpepper had one of the strongest arms I've ever seen and he didn't pan out. Accuracy and knowledge of the game go a long way.
Drew Brees had a ******* cannon lmao

Maybe the Drew Brees you’re thinking of is 15 years in the league pushing 40 then yes

I genuinely don't understand why you typed this out just to say Mario is going to decide who the QB is next year. Like yeah, no **** Mario is going to decide who is the QB next year, what a great addition to the conversation.

Sorry for discussing and speculating on the future of the team.
