What has been speculated since last week became official Friday, with Miami electing not to retain wide receivers coach Kevin Beard. The former Hurricanes player told the Sun Sentinel that new coach Mark Richt is “going in another direction.”

The move could derail Bruce’s 18-month commitment to the Canes.

“It’s going to make a factor, I’ll just leave it at that. It’s going to make a factor,” Bruce told SEC Country. “There’s no guarantee that I’ll leave the University of Miami, but it’ll be something to definitely think about.”

didn't one point in time he said "i committed to a school not a coach"..hope he stays loyal but I doubt it. good thing we get the last o.v. though.

Best thing that happened to this university was a complete overhaul of the previous staff, if that means Miami loses a few recruits along the way....oh well

If you guys haven't figured it out by now, he loves the attention. There's no point in getting worked up over his comments. If he signs, great. If not, oh well. This kid is talented but he's not a Dalvin Cook type of talent. There's also some character concerns with him. He was suspended more than once this year at STA.

Will the hiring of rumph help tho since he was also his coach at one time?

No one coach is worth a recruit.

Oh wells.

Completely agree

Although just curious. Hypothetically, If Coley was basing his return on beard and Bruce recruitment was on beard. Would it be worth to have beard another year? That's one more year of our best wide receiver and a top 5 or so receiver commit.

I don't mind the change at all honestly just curious as to what the board thinks.

wr coaches seem replaceable to me so how many players is one coach worth hypothetically? Especially at one of the least important positions for coaching (would be a different story if we're talking about DC, DL, oc, qb, etc.)

I like that Richt is being a man of principle.

I'm sure some HCs would ride Beard out for another year if it guaranteed them Bruce and Coley, but Richt isn't that guy.

Most of the NFL rating sources have Coley as a solid 4/5 round pick...Their are 16 other receivers rated higher so if he's so intent on leaving he's only costing himself money...
