Pearl has always been an objectively awful person, so I'm not shocked he's pulling this. That said, don't be shocked if he runs for political office in the state of Alabama. He found a way to get his woefully underqualified son a HC spot, and he walks away before what is happening to Dabo, Mike Gundy and other coaches of his ilk happens to him.

Recruits are starting to realize that they don't have to play for certain coaches anymore, there's money everywhere. Coaches are being held to account in a way that wasn't the case 10-15 years ago. That, and I wouldn't be shocked if Pearl has some dirt out there, and he is getting ahead of it.
