Arians to Bucs' front office; Bowles named coach

Bruce Arians is stepping down after three seasons as the Buccaneers' coach and will take on a new role in the team's front office. Defensive coordinator Todd Bowles has been promoted to head coach.

I thought Arians would coach one last season, and OC Byron Leftwich would get the HC gig.

I thought Arians would coach one last season, and OC Byron Leftwich would get the HC gig.

Bowles was a safe choice, but if it was my team I might’ve taken the risk on Leftwich. My guess is he’s got a higher ceiling, although I don’t know how much you can judge Bowles by having coached the Jets. They are a meat grinder franchise for coaches in the last 15 years or more.
