I look at USC and their struggles lately and it looks eerily similar to ours.
  • Mike Garrett made a strong, but controversial, hire in Pete Carroll who ended up getting them into trouble with NCAA.
  • Pat Haden replaced him and hired Steve Sarkisian, embarrassing their program.
  • Soon after came Lynn Swann. And well...yeah.
USC is a cautionary tale of a historic program that made poor decisions at the top that trickled down infecting the entire athletics department. A lot of these guys have ties to USC. Sound familiar?

The difference is USC has moved on from Lynn Swann and made what I believe to be a pretty good AD hire in Mike Bohn, former Cinci AD (struggled at Colorado but who hasn't?). Mike Bohn is only the 2nd USC AD with no ties to the program. Mike Bohn made a strong hire with Luke Fickell and has helped Cinci take it to the next level with fundraising.

So I present to you Danny White, the guy who should become our next AD. He's done a masterful job of fundraising at UCF, upgraded facilities, made good under the radar hires, and is ****y as ****. UCF Nat'l Champs 2017.

It starts at the top. Make a good AD hire and Manny will be gone sometime next year.

Why don’t you just use our school as an example of why you need a competent AD with passion and autonomy?
To illustrate the path forward. A similar program (USC) has made 2 weak hires in a row. This new hire seems to be a good one.

We've made many bad hires in a row. Danny White seems to be a good one.

"Seems to be" cool story.

The board of trustees, the president of the University, and boosters don’t give a **** about our athletic program. They are not going to spend money on a new athletic director.

Danny White doesn’t make that much money.

Did you even google it?

Then the money part of your porst was irrelevant.
The university spends the money on academic buildings, merit scholarships, textbooks and any sort of technology rather than anything in the athletic department. They had a difficult time fundraising the IPF

This is part of the AD's job. Flake Blames can't fundraise for sh*t. Hence, we need an AD that can accumulate that bread.

A lot of people on this board talk like they care but I question whether they gave a dime for the IPF.

I'd donate for a fund to buy White.

Do you not understand how the money part here isn’t at issue?

Yes I agree with you. Flake Blames is an idiot and I hope he gets fired. But my argument was that the board of trustees and boosters seem to prioritize academics over our athletic program. They seem fine with Blake James

You’re assuming the BOT wants to succeed (wins and losses wise) at football. By the looks of the last 2 decades, that is a tenuous assumption, at best.
