Briles extended at UH

Don’t assume all oc prospects are anxious to come here. Our reputation is tarnished and oc prospects know the history of our former coordinators. Coordinators don’t last long at us because of turmoil and constant changing of coaching. Prospects are not stupid. They know that Richt may be on the hot seat and might not be here in a year or do. New coach will hire his own coordinators and Richt hire fired. We are caught in a catch 22.

I disagree.

There have been two DCs under Richt and Golden, Manny Diaz and Mark D’Onofrio. Make that one DC and one fake DC. Golden has two OCs; James Coley, fired with Golden, and Jed Fisch, who left for an NFL job.

I think the real issue is if the OC is allowed to implement his offense or will he be constrained by Richt. I do not believe an OC with a different background (spread, whatever) is going to take the job if Richt is going to mico-manage and call plays.

I don’t see an issue if the OC believes he will have the freedom Manny seems to enjoy. There is no problem if the OC succeeds by Miami showing enough improvement to believe the team is becoming a legitimate threat to Clemson in the ACC and CFP contender. Fans wanting instant gratification may be disappointed if their expectation is a 2019 offense comparable to Oklahoma’s.

He signed an extension because someone walked up to him with a piece of paper and said "If you sign this, we'll double your salary", and then his agent whispered in his ear "And you can still leave if someone wants to give you even more money".

Pretty easy decision.

Also, why would you leave Houston for San Marcos?
