I'll give you the short list summary as I don't have all day:
  • Covered up rape - look up the rape and suicide of Lizzy Seeberg - DMoney can fill you in. Check out this episode of the CIS pod - DMoney's greatest performance ever. in my opinion.
  • Killed a kid - look up Declan Sullivan
  • Most punchable face in all of college football
  • Coached at ND
What more do you need to know to hate someone?
 
I would be surprised if Kelly is a bad hire. Tremendous upgrade across the board for them. Saban and Smart could send him to early retirement :) but Kelly has had too much success at multiple places: d2, CMU turned around, Cincinatti improved a ton, and being one of the best ND coaches in a very, very long time in an era where ND has lesser relative power to recruit consistent elite athletes than ever before.

Yea I'm sure the truckload of cash was completely secondary. And he gleaned everything ESPN says in his one 45 minute phone call. Maybe his agent told ESPN he said "oh. You're actually going to PAY me for this wonderful opportunity??"

We will find out. He’s not a bad coach IMO but that doesn’t mean he’s saban level. He’s a horrible human being based on what we see in the media, but that generally goes hand in hand with being a successful coach.

My dad's a domer so I've been out there mainly to spend a weekend with him. We went to the player walk to the stadium and Kelly is a tiny dude

He implies it at the end with the scissor lift mention. Kelly literally sent a student up a scissor lift in like 50 MPH winds to get practice video. To the surprise of no one said scissor lift was toppled by wind resulting in the kid dying.

Rip to the kid.. but I’ll be damned if anyone could’ve told me to get up there in those conditions. Sucks tho
