I’m sure in some ways it is helpful but in other ways, it’s a screaming red light to be wary of taking the gig. If you have another option, they can get you almost the same amount of money.

Auburn has this kind of issue with their booster craziness

Ed Orgeron, beloved Cajun son of Louisiana, was fired following two mediocre seasons (and some off-field shenanigans) — less than two years after LSU's undefeated National Championship run in 2019-20.

Brian Kelly, cantakerous Irishman from Boston without even an SEC title game appearance much less a NC, has zero good will available to help his cause.

Once LSU resolves the buyout particulars, they'll empty Kelly's locker into the Mississippi River quicker than their ex-coach ever moved on one of his corny-*** dancing videos.
