NFL Brian Flores Suing NFL for Discrimination

How is that evidence of discrimination? Even if true, it’s not even evidence that Daboll was hired over him due to race, just that ny possibly had their mind made up and were going through the motions of the Rooney rule, unless they already interviewed other minorities. And How does bb represent the ny franchise in any way? I’m sure bb doesn’t have inside knowledge of other teams hiring practices. If he did, that would be the most surprising thing
my man, I'm not saying the evidence proves discrimination, but the allegations certainly fall under discrimination.

The NFL has a policy that teams must interview (in good faith) minority candidates for upper management positions including HC. Days before Flores (a minority candidate) was to be interviewed by an NFL team, the NFL team had already made a decision to hire a non-minority candidate.

I'm not saying that the allegations are true, but the allegations certainly fall under discrimination/racism as a failure to obey the Rooney Rule. If you can't see how the allegations at least fall under discrimination, then there's no need to have any more conversation between us about this.

Of players whose families consented to the autopsy because they suspected mental problems. It's not a representative sample because there would be an overrepresentation of people with issues.

*Disclaimer: I'm not saying CTE doesn't exist, I'm saying 110 out of 111 is way too high. Roger Goodell is a POS regardless of that.
Well, if you take a random 202 football players with 111 of them being from the NFL and demonstrate 110 of them have it, either way you cut it, thats quite obvious.

Regression is a ***** but the vast majority will still show clear signs of it. This discussion will never end until CTE can be diagnosed whilst the patient is alive.

I don't call what color he is. He's a good coach. That ******* Ross paying him to lose is 100% a bytch move. Firing him was just plain stupid. Yes, people very often have someone they want to hire and have to interview for appearances, but that's usually known going in, not led to believe you had a chance.

I hope Flores walks away with a big fat check.
I despise Ross so I want any egg on his face that's possible.

I actually believe that's more of what this is about. I also think Flores hates Ross and doesn't want to walk into a job that's a repeat.

This isnt a dream scenario, its literally how hirings are done.

Especially with grading websites for companies, every interview is like an advertisement. If word comes out that you have a ****** hiring process, that you cancel scheduled interviews because you already have your guy, or seem to be less interested in an interview because you have already made your choice (no serious company does this, its stupid malpractice), it paints a bad picture.
Exactly, they could have cancelled the interview and if they did they would get in trouble either way. It’s a damned if you do damned if you don’t situation.

Rooney Rule is f#cking insulting. If you want to force the owners to act less racist (you can't force anyone to actually BE less racist) , then the NFL Commish can set a quota and say that at least 10 NFL teams must have minority coaches. If the season starts with less than 10 minority coaches, then all the teams without minority coaches have to pay a massive penalty that gets distributed to the teams that have minority coaches. Now owners have an actual financial incentive to hire a minority HC instead of doing token interviews.
The idea you demonstrated is based on the exact same idea and execution the Rooney Rule is based on. The only thing you are doing is base it on job hires and not interviews. But, in essence, still the same.

Brian Flores went 19-14 in 2020 and 2021 after he had to rebuild a Dolphin team that looked like they would finish 0-16 in 2019 early on.

Thats not failure. At all.
They were expected to make the playoffs this year. Ok the first year even perhaps the second I’ll give you that. This year a 7 game losing losing streak and still they were in it until they wet the bed in Tennessee.

No playoffs in year 3 it’s see ya sorry but it’s a business.

Which, as I have explained before, is still colossal malpractice for any company. Imagine scheduling a job interview that you have to cancel because someone else wasnt good enough, he just made a good enough impression.

Rooney Rule is part of the law that the NFL has set up in their league, hence why a class-action lawsuit can be filed in the first place.
Breaking the Rooney rule is not against the law and that’s not what the class action suit is about. It’s about workplace discrimination, which is not the same as breaking the Rooney rule.

Maybe because it’s a mandate of the league, you’re now gonna sue because they followed the rule!?!?
Your going to sue because they didn't follow the rule. The rule is not that "you have to interview a black guy" . They have other things written in the rule that you need to give them an equal shot at the job and follow good practice, etc.

You can't just go through your whole hiring process. Pick the guy you want. Then say "alright lets have the secretary go interview this random black dude on her lunch break to meet the quota". That is breaking the rule. The fact that they had their guy before they interviewed him is where they screwed up.

The giants thing will stir up a bunch of noise but him to try and prove racism in this case (in the law setting at least) is a far cry.

Most managers/owners know WHO they are going to hire before they start the interview process or at least have a favorite candidate, in every industry. Almost would be slacking if they didn't

paying flores to lose and the deshaun watson thing might be IT for stephen ross to try and sell the team or be forced to

The glaring issue with black coaches in the NFL is not even so much the not getting hired, but the one and done approach they have

It’s ****ed up when you see the same retread coaches getting picked up so they can go 6-10 for 3 years over and over again

I guess my entire thing here is that when doing the “right thing” seems to often pull us further from getting answers…then what the **** do you do? That’s the frustrating part for me anyway

It’s disgusting really
The most egregious is Eric Bienemy. How has that guy not been hired for a HC position when owners hire people with less of a resume?

Thats just bull****, tons of NFL head coaches wont get fired after going 19-14 in two seasons.

Breaking the rooney rule equates to workplace discrimination.

Hence, why a class-action could be filed in the first place...

There is a very easy fix for this. Just schedule the black guy as the first person you interview. Or just don't be a ******* idiot and leak that you already chose your guy before you interview the black guy.

When everybody knows it's Daboll except the guy going into the interview? To the point where people are congratulating him?

I get that the Giants might have decided on Daboll from the get-go, I can understand that. But knowing the Rooney rule is in place and knowing that there are other good coaches available, you do your due diligence before telling anyone. This wasn't even a case of it's Daboll's job to lose, it was a case of "Hey, let's interview a black guy." That's ridiculous.

Dont call out racism, you might be called a snitch afterwards.
How is it racism because they hired the guy they wanted? Just because he wasn't black they are automatically racist? We use that word way to liberally. And this is from a guy who wanted them to hire Flo!!! But I also understand people like the hot new thing not the guy who just got let go.

I have explained the issue 10 times now, go back and read it or leave it... and not just I have, dozens of others have as well.
