Brian and the Boz 30for30

All that said, this will be good viewing material for all the kids on here. I know Bosworth has been pretty much a joke with Generation X and Y mostly of his own doing..But this guy was a beast in his day. He just couldnt shake off the stinch of being embarassed by the "U" (the REAL "U" as the Bethune Cookman head coach once said) and the "Bo Jackson" game. But he was a great college player..Kinda like Tim Tebow but on steroids.

Those were the days, I remember my whole family went to that game without me because I had to take the SAT that morning. I rushed through that test so I could get home and watch the game on TV, I have always had my priorities right.

I remember on one play Boz chasing Vinnie back and forth all over the field behind the line and Vinnie completing a pass. That play alone killed Boz.

I remember the entire student section singing "bye bye Bosworth, we hate to see you go" at the end of the '86 game.

the 30 for 30 underwhelmed. the structure of it was weird (ie storage scene). he was a beast in colleges, sans the UM game, but was a flop in the NFL. the documentary gave no insight into how he made the transition from a narcissistic college player to a busted NFL player to a remorseful mature adult.

Sans the UM game, didn't he have 22 tackles that game.

Yeah i was really disappointed. The "Boz" was such a great story, they could have really done a better job with it. I thought it would be more like the Marcus Dupree episode, showing the college and pro but then how he got to where he is now. Dupree's story really touch a nerve with me. I felt nothing watching the Boz. The scenes with his son in the storage facility were a bit awkward and felt forced.

I thought the father/son dynamic was fine, especially since the whole story is really about Bosworth and his dad. The fact that it was all in a storage locker was interesting, but I thought it worked pretty well to be honest.

Though I do agree that I really didn't feel much about him at all. A kid with a tough dad, tried in his own way to rebel, and had a pretty nice life all things considered. Not really that different than a lot of people and certainly not a deeply emotional story. Dupree on the other hand was much different and did touch a nerve.

I actually think the "storage scenes" were very creative. I mean seriously, there have been about 5 of these on 30for30 already. He had to find a way to make it different then the others. Esp since the Dupree story was one of the best ones.

The poster who said he would have fit in perfectly at UM during those days was spot on..But that was natures way of making UM somewhat mortal. It really would not have been fair.

I wasnt aware that he snitched in that book though. Funny that he was kind of blaming it on Rick Reilly. Like Rick fabricated alot of the stuff. Lol. Yeah right.

thought it was very well done including the storage scenes. made me garner an understanding of the guy and the regret he has for his actions. glossed over exactly what made the light bulb go off for him but one could assume it was something that just happened to him over the years as he looked back at his short nfl career and the bridges he burned. even showed how he ultimately made amends and was accepted back into the family.

I seem to remember one where Boz blindsided Vinny and dude didn't go down; instead I think he ran around and end up with long gain. In my mind I see him breaking several tackles, maybe even another Boz attempt. Might just be fuzzy old man memory-- anyone else remember that.

you are right, he had a ton of tackles, i meant the game did not go well for OU.

That documentary was pretty lame. The scenes with Boz and his kid were cringe-worthy. Seemed as if he just met the kid. I did like how the kid was begging for the NCAA shirt and Boz just threw it back in a storage box. What a d*ck
