So then his only option to play this year will be the waiver? Not expecting him to get it because of a coaching change.

You guys are treating Tate Martell like he's a savior. For f*cks sakes, Tate ran from competition after saying that he wouldn't run from competition. I do not have anything against Tate. But I do believe you guys are discounting the talent of Jarren Williams, Weldon and even that knucklehead Perry. For the first time in their Collegiate careers, Williams, Weldon and Perry will receive competent coaching.

1. No one on here is discounting those guys unless there’s a thread directly related to discounting them,
2. maybe Tate is receiving praise because he’s was a 5 *, #2 duel threat behind Tua Tagovailoa, if this kid was in this class he would clearly be the #1 QB recruit, and if he committed to us, guys like you would be going nuts and now add in the fact that he has 1.5 years of college experience and no logical person would hate on that
3. WE HAVE NO QB COMMITTED IN THIS CLASS and throughout the year it was like this, if you should be mad at anyone, be mad at Jon Richt
4. You don’t know his situation or why he left, he could’ve easily been told that Fields was getting the job
5. it’s all about competition around here no one cares if your name is Nkosi Perry, or Cade Weldon or Jarren Williams, if Tate can come here and beat all of those then shut up and stop complaining, and according to some, he’s shown more promise in his couple of games than anyone in that QB room, including the knucklehead that started multiple games last year, who btw isn’t mature enough to avoid multiple suspensions

Also baker and Johnny were knuckle heads as well early on

Im already on record stating that I would not be surprised if Jaren Williams beats out Tate Martell. My prime concern with Williams is if he has the alpha dog gene. If he does then I see him emerging as the #1 guy. IMO he has the most complete skill set of the two.

Side note: I don't think N'Kosi Perry will be a factor in any of this...unless he finds some kind of maturity pill from some Canadian internet pharmacy.

Perry was #7 duel threat according to 247 and was ranked 199th, 143 slots behind the #2 duel threat and 56 ranked player Tate Martell, secondly, yes Baker was a knucklehead but he wasn’t constantly getting suspended for dumb stuff and he played with a chip on his shoulder unlike Perry.

You right he was #7

Suspensions are a coaches choice he could have easily been suspended if the coached deemed so. Baker also had better coaching.

If Tate hates competition, why did he go to Ohio State in 2017? He had to battle Barrett, Haskins, and Burrow for the job. And in 2018, he lost the starting job to Haskins.

Tate is a player that never complained about playing time. Since his coach he signed up to play for is retiring and Josh Fields transferred to Ohio State, I don't blame him for transferring.

They've had no one to really hate for well over a decade - and no one else could fill that huge vacuum!

Oh yeah! They want UM BACK!

Alabama - no personality. Ohio State - never had one. Clemson - colorful somewhat - but Dabo tries too hard post game to look down his nose at opposing coaches. Oklahoma is quick - but overhyped and UM's spanked their butts so many times in the past - no one believes their crap.

UM starts storming up the rankings again, slaying giants, and razing college football - it will once again - be . . . FUN.
 
The good recruiters lie to kids telling them everything they want to hear. Tate would come in and sit a year then would start. He had no idea Haskins was that good. And no OC was going to tell Tate he was not good enough. Tate was coming off a 3 National titles I believe so the kids head was huge.

I too think we need to pump the breaks. We were 7-6 last year. Losing a lot of our OL and DL. Our QB's could not beat out Rozier. WR could not catch. Guys quiting on the team. Florida has a lot of momentum. Have a proven HC. We know they get good Florida players. I expect 4 losses next year at least. Miami not back yet.

Of the QBs on roster, as far as duel threat, Tate is the most complete. His lower body/leg fast twitch quickness is Manziel like.

No doubt he’s our best duel thread, the question is will that make him the starter? Assuming he gets a waiver, of which there’s no guarantee.

But as far as duel threat, he’s the guy.

lmao. losing a lot on the OL is more of a benefit considering how bad the OL was. we kept hearing richt say how the better players were the younger kids on the OL.
