Brent Venables

Somebody with that type of energy is absolutely needed. Tired of these docile and even keel coaches

Would love Venables - dude can coach, and you would be poaching from the top program in the ACC and next best program after Bama IMO. Wouldn't be easy to pry him from Clemson though, seems like he loves it there (similar to Bud Foster situation), and who wouldn't - Dabo has it going on right now.

I look at Venables and he makes me think about a Vols or Gators hire that comes in with a bunch of hoopla and completely fails.

then again our HC is Richt so I would take the OC from TEXAS 3A state title runner up right about now.

Keep up with the noise and pressure and make him quit and negotiate a buyout. He wanted to retire once before maybe he says it ain’t worth it. He won’t fire his son or Thomas Brown so if the AD and the people writing checks force change, maybe his loyalty is too much to them. It’s absurd his buyout is that much. I hope Blake James does his job. This is putrid and anyone who knows football, knows this is 100% Richts fault. Literally no one else’s.

Venables is not leaving Clemson to come here. They can and would pay him more than we are currently paying Richt. His player salary budget there is practically unlimited and it would probably take a decade of abject failure for them to fire him. If Saban is actually a human person, as has been rumored, and one day retires, Venables will have the option to take over the Clemson program or follow Dabo to the promised land. He is THE made man of all assistant coaches in all of college football.

You guys realize it’s like 15 mill to get rid of richt right ?
That's why I keep saying we would be better off going out and getting the best OC out there, and make him the top paid OC in the country. By the time you remove the OC titles from Brown and Dugans, it'll be a pretty good deal. **** of a lot cheaper than firing Richt, and a **** of a lot more efficient.

The amount of money lost in the long run might almost be worth it to chalk it up. Season ticket sales will be at an all time low. Boosters and donors will not want to open their check books. This whole situation is one of the worst I’ve seen in college football. We just opened an IPF and the brand new housing and dorms is beautiful and now we have zero momentum for this program. The sky was the limit to return to the elite and one single man has f**ked this up. He is the biggest fraud in college football right now.

Venables had no interest in this job years ago. Can't imagine that's changed. He's quite content making $2M a year and doesn't have to deal with the headaches that being a HC bring.
