Only winnable games i see are Clemson and Boston College. Duke, VT, Pittsburgh, Louisville, Wake Forest, and UGA all seem like lost causes. This doesn’t help his case either:

He has gone through a slew of different DCs.
What's up with that?
Amazing ascension with Buster Faulkner as I believe he was fired at Arkansas State at one point in his
career.

Yeah matter of fact is that Faulkner might get hired to be GT’s HC now.

He was promoted to interim HC then kept the job so his first guy was retained from Collins’ staff. Didn’t work out well. The second guy was really good but got hired away by the Ravens as a LB coach.

GT wasn’t in love with their DC last year but can’t tell if the departure was mutual or more of key telling him to find another job thing. Blake Gideon played under muschamp at Texas so going back there with him is cool, but seems like GT wanted to go in a new direction.

Apparently key has a similar reputation as Mario as being hard to work for because his expectations are sky-high. New DC has been on GT’s staffs with Key (pre and post becoming HC) before, and worked with charles huff as his DC.

Definitely an odd situation as no clear answer from what i can find

faulkner was always the key, he had them going toe to toe with UGA because of his scheme, doing more with less.. Him taking players with him out the door like QB, WR, Center, etc. is just even more damaging to a program like GT.. They only had to go after mendoza after Faulkkner snatch they QB..

He is a guy that is coordinator dependent…had two good ones but hasn’t replaced them well
